GSL SPEECH FOR BAYS OF PIGS INVASION

The Bay of Pigs invasion, which occurred in April 1961, was a failed military effort by the
United States to topple Fidel Castro's government in Cuba. The CIA planned and supported
the operation, which featured a force of approximately 1,400 Cuban exiles who were
trained and equipped by the US. The invasion was a total flop, with the majority of the
invading troops captured or killed.
The invasion is widely viewed as a major defeat for the United States. It was a severe
setback for the Kennedy administration and a propaganda success for the Castro regime.
The failed invasion also strengthened the communist government's position in Cuba. This
demonstrated how much control Cuba had over the US.
As the Delegate of North Vietnam, North Vietnam intends to provide military and economic
support to Cuba, a North Vietnamese ally, however for the present moment, North Vietnam
is engaged in a war against South Vietnam, which is an anti-communist government.

We've all come here to talk about the conflict between Cuba and the United States.
However, as a committee, we should focus on the North Vietnam war rather than the Bay of
Pigs invasion in Cuba. The Cuba invasion is a needless invasion with no real meaning shortly.
The battle between North and South Vietnam is significantly more important. After the
French rule ended North Vietnam was divided into north and south Vietnam, South Vietnam
is an anti-communist country, and we must reunify the country under North Vietnam rule.
South Vietnam which is currently being backed up by the US wants to establish a capitalist
regime within North Vietnam, A government built over money and corruption. If we unify
the country under communist rule, it will improve living standards, education, healthcare,
and infrastructure development.
POI
Why shouldn’t capitalism be implemented in north Vietnam?
Capitalism is the worst economic system as under capitalism.
1. The distribution of wealth and income can be highly unequal.
2. The exploitation of natural resources and the degradation of the environment.
3. The exploitation of the potential of the workers by their employers and the
suppression of wages.
Before the fall of Saigon in 1975 south Vietnam was a capitalist country but it was a highly
corrupt and inefficient economy, that was plagued by nepotism and cronyism, with a weak
infrastructure and limited industrial base. Economic growth was hindered by the Vietnam
war which lasted for decades and devastated the country.
The Advantages of a communist regime
1. Economic equality- distribution of wealth and income are equal.
2. The Abolition of poverty- by redistributing wealth and resources to all the citizens.
3. A stronger sense of community- people are encouraged to work together for
common good.
4. The Elimination of Unemployment- the government is responsible for providing
employment.
5. Stronger Public goods – greater investment in public goods.
