As the north Vietnam delegate, we would argue that the Cuban missile crisis was a clear example of

the aggressive and imperialistic nature of the United States and their attempts to spread capitalism
and undermine socialist governments. The USs previous attempts to overthrow the socialist
government of Cuba and its support for the south Vietnamese government during the Vietnam war
were a clear violation of the principles of self-determination and national sovereignty.

The USSR decisions to place nuclear missiles in Cuba was a necessary measure to protect the
socialist government of Cuba and deter a potential US invasion.

Furthermore, as a nation that was currently facing a war against the US backed up south Vietnam,
we understand the importance of national sovereignty and self determination and we stand in
solidarity with the Cuban government and people in their struggle against the US imperialism.

As an Ally we plan to give full support to Cuba and its forces.
