Rural development simply means to bring a comfortable life to rural areas.

This is
where there a few people, vast lands, far from civilization and farming is the main
occupation. A rural person’s necessities are limited particularly in the areas of medicine,
education, food and power. As a result, rural development entails improving the quality of life
of people living in rural areas, who are primarily comprised of farmers whose primary
occupation is agriculture.

The government is not blind towards the problems of rural regions; I have witnessed
how government programs have impacted rural lives. In fact, farmers populate the rural
areas. Whether a pandemic exists or not, our farmers are on the front line. Every day, they
fulfill one of a person's most basic needs: food. They offer food not just in rural regions, but
also in metropolitan areas, and this is what the government perceives. I, myself, have
witnessed three improvements in rural living as a result of government programs:

1. One of these is the Irrigators' Associations (IA) which are organized mainly by the
National Irrigation Administration (NIA). IAs in rural areas are now SEC and BIR
registered. the rural areas are composed of farmers who are the beneficiaries of the
free irrigation. Through government educational training and programs, farmers'
socioeconomic aspects are developed since they now know how to engage through
meetings and, more importantly, in conducting meetings with the prescribed
parliamentary rules and procedures.
2. Aside from trainings, the government provides agriculture inputs such as fertilizer,
seeds, and insurance. They also provide machineries that makes a farmer's job
easier and faster, which are given through associations.
3. IAs are trained to be financially literate so they could participate in the market place
and their linkages with other agencies are growing as the government’s assistance
continues.

Because of the government's programs, it has generated income for our farmers in
rural areas and it has improved their lives. government funds. no matter how good the
development plan is, it can cost the tradition and culture of rural areas, especially their
care of natural resources. However, development should evaluate who truly benefits
from it. If it is truly for the benefit of everybody or simply a few. A deeper grasp of
development and a feeling of awareness of how it occurs as well as its outcomes are
helpful methods of determining whether development has beneficial or otherwise.
