Organizational structure: WHAT IS IT?

An organization's official system for classifying its employees and jobs is referred to as its
organizational structure. An organizational chart, indicating who reports to whom, is a common
example of this.

The processes used by the organizational structure help to coordinate and regulate the actions
of its members.

To accomplish the objectives of the organization, tasks and departments are interconnected
through coordination.

Control is the management of behavior in such a way that members can anticipate and maintain
relationships with other organization members. To be effective, an organization needs both
coordinating and controlling mechanisms that are appropriate for its environment.
