world in a half century from 1990 to 2040. Overall, the projection 1, 2 and 3 that are started in 2010
witness an upward trend whereas the projection 4 remains the same in 1990 and 2040.

Turning to the details, the projection 4 initially started at around 340 metric tonnes in 1990 and
reached its peak in 2010 by consuming another 100 metric tonnes. However, in the next decade, it
decreased at just under 400 metric tonnes. It expected to decline to the same level as the starting point
in 2040.

Another interesting point is that the projection 1, 2 and 3 started in the same year, 2010. The
projection 1 started at around 440 metric tonnes. It is predicted to increase and become the highest rice
consumption in the next 4 decades around 540 metric tonnes. The projection 2 and 3 experience the
same amount from 2010 to 2030. In the last decade, there are a slight difference and projection 2 are
higher than projection 3.
