As of right now I am focused on the mortuary science career path.

However, after I
finish this program, I want to focus on the nursing program. The reason I want to do this is
because I have a passion for mortuary science. I worked at a funeral home my senior year of
high school and I learned that taking care of people in a quiet environment is something I
wanted to do. Before I set my mind on this, I always had a feeling I wanted to be a nurse as
well. So, after much consideration I have decided to do both programs. Each program is only
two years. This means I will be spending the same amount of time in school as my classmates
that went to a four-year school, but I will be coming out of it with two degrees. My plan is to
work as a nurse three days a week for twelve hours which is typical. On my days off I will work
at the funeral home to continue the passion I did not want to give up. I can eventually imagine
myself owning my own funeral home, after retiring from being a nurse. This way I will always be
helping people and following my career dreams.
