1. State the purpose of Abaquin’s “Prepare Me Theory” and Laurente’s
“Theory of Nursing Practice and Career
- The purpose of Abaquin’s “Prepare Me Theory is all about the patients who are
terminally-ill or those with incurable diseases as with cancer, and also to the
improvement of quality of life for advance stage cancer patients despite their
current situation.
- In Laurente’s “Theory of Nursing Practice and Career, the primary purpose of her
theory is about the improvement of positivily influencing the health and quality of
life and patients, she also emphasized the effective communication and using the
family as an entry point to help a patient.

2. How will you apply the “Prepare Me Theory” in nursing practice?

- To apply the "Prepare Me" theory in nursing practice, in my opinion, your presence
should be active in the patients' lives, especially in their needs, and to improve the
patient's quality of life, a better example is to introduce the "God" for the terminally ill
because it gives him/her a better understanding about the her/him illness.

3. Differentiate the nurse’s caring bahaviors according to Cecilia Laurente

- Presence: Person-to-person contact between the client and nurses

- Concern: Development in the time through mutual trust nurse and the patient
- Stimulation: In nurse stimulation through the words tops the powerful energy that can
heal the person
