Guide to the Wood behaviours and what you can do to help embed them

People are at the heart of our cultural framework. Our vision, values, behaviours and leadership
support you at work. They set the tone for how we work together, with each other and with other
stakeholders.

Specifically, behaviours help to embed our values and provide expectations of the way we work

Don’t give Up

Stay focussed on our goals and treat failure as a learning opportunity

Why is this important

“If you've never failed, you've never lived” is how the saying goes. Failure is one of the aspects in life
most people are afraid of. But the truth is: everyone has failed, and everyone will fail again. ... So, do
not be afraid of failure, it is a part of your road to success

What can you do

View mistakes positively

Resilient teams do not view mistakes and failures as problems that are the end of the world for
everyone. Instead, they reframe mistakes positively as challenges, and perceive them as
opportunities to learn.

Build and strengthen positive relationships

It is important for teams to be able to build positive relationships with people within the confines of
their own team, but also with people in other parts of the organisation. Having an extensive network
of expertise available helps to speed up the process of finding solutions

Set and maintain a clear sense of purpose

Having a clear sense of purpose is what ties a team together in difficult times and it pays to invest
time in the initial stages of the team’s formation to shape a well-meaning purpose, and to have
everyone contribute.
