Character Sketch of Jimmy Wells

In the story, ‘After Twenty Years’, there are two main

characters: Jimmy Wells and Silky Bob. The story moves
around both of them, but here we are going to pen down
the personality traits and qualities of Jimmy Wells.
Jimmy Wells is an honest policeman. He possesses a perfect
personality required to be a policeman, as he was tall and
fit. The story depicts that he has to meet his friend after
twenty years and for the same he reaches the same spot
decided to meet, this shows he valued friendship. He starts
talking to a stranger this states that he is amicable and
wants to hang out with his childhood friend for the sake of
promise kept for twenty years, this depicted his nature of
being trustworthy and social. As soon as he recognizes that
the stranger is his best friend Silky Bob, he values friendship
and leaves from there. But being a responsible policeman
and citizen, he maintains the balance between his personal
and professional life. Being a responsible policeman and a
loyal friend his loyalty is put to test. He is smart enough to
respect his job and to be the finest chap; he asks someone
else to arrest his friend and cannot look into the eyes of his
childhood chum.
