Players goal is to knock their opponent’s holen out of the circle using their shooter Holen.

Materials Needed

You just simply need

⮚ Holen (marbles)

⮚ a circle at about 2-3 feet wide drawn on the ground or a string as

alternative when playing indoor

How to Play Holen

1. Draw a circle, 2-3 feet wide on the ground as your holen ring or use a string if
you play indoor.

2. Place the agreed number of holen (marbles) at the center of the circle. Holen can be

randomly arranged inside the circle.

2
3. Choose a shooter holen. This will be used to knock the opponent’s holen out of the
circle.

4. Decide whether you want to play “for keeps” or not. If you play for keeps, players keep

the marbles they win. If not, most of the time all holen are given back to the owner at the

end of the game.

5. To determine who goes first usually you draw a line around 10 feet away. Players shoot

or roll their holen. The player whose holen is nearest to the line gets to play first.
Alternatively, the playing order can be decided by doing Jack en Poy.or a toss coin.

6. To shoot the holen, the player should kneel on the of the circle and use their thumb to

flick the marble from their hand putting their "knuckles down" onto the ground. The first

shot must be taken from the edge of the circle. If the shooter holen stays inside the circle,

then next shot can be taken from the spot where the shooter holen landed.

7. The first shot must be taken from the edge of the circle. If the shooter holen stays inside

the circle, then next shot can be taken from the spot where the shooter holen landed

8. If the player knocks a holen out, then he gets to keep the marble for the rest of the game,

he also get to take another turn. If no marble is knocked out of the circle, the other player

then gets a turn.

9. The player with the most holen wins the game.
