Dear Sir,

We have not at this time received the employer’s confirmation of the duties and
authorities of the Engineer as is required under clause 3.1 of the Conditions of
Contract. Such confirmation is as you will appreciate essential as it will allow us to know
that the Engineer is acting in accordance with your instructions and with your full
authority.

The Employer will appreciate that until we are provided with this information, we will be
unable to follow any instruction issued by the Engineer.

The Employer’s urgent attention is requested.
