THE LITERACY RATE (% OF PEOPLE WHO CAN READ AND WRITE) BY

REGION AND GENDER IN 2011.


The bar graph compares the number of males and females who can read and write
in seven areas in 2011. The vertical axes show percentage, and the horizon axes
demonstrates the regions. As it is observed, the literacy rate of males was as equal
as the female rate female or slight higher than female’s rate.
It is explicitly observed that the literacy rate in Central Asia reached the vertex at
100%. Followed by Central Asia countries were Central / Eastern Europe, East
Asia / Pacific and Latin America / Caribbean with approximately ratio as Central
Asia; however, there was a small difference in the rate of gender in East Asia /
Pacific and Latin America / Caribbean.

The literacy rate steadily decreased in Arab States, Soth and West Asia and Sub-
Saharan Africa; moreover, the dispropotion was also more significant. In
particular, the bottommost point was about 70% with males and 60% with female
in Sub-Saharan Africa.

To sump up, the literate rate has a difference between regions; but, males who
could read and write were higher than females.
