The bar graph depicts the approximate illiteracy rates broken down by geographical area and sex during

the previous calendar year.

It is evident that first world countries are a long way ahead in terms of literacy rates from their other given
geographical counterparts. Both the sexes are almost equally qualified which is more than 95% of the
total population.

Likewise, Latin America/Caribbean and East Asia/Oceania are the two regions having literacy rates of
over 75% for both men and women.

However, South Asia is on top of the list when it comes to the ignorance rate of their demographics
having highest for both the genders. In fact, more than half of the women in the South Asian part of the
world do not have the ability to write and read. The same scenario is true for the women in Arab states
whereas the rate is less than 50% for females in Sub-Saharan Africa. Male literacy rates are
comparatively higher than the female in those three particular areas which is averaging roughly 70%.

Overall, in every given geographical locations, women are more oblivious than their male counterparts.
