VII. RATIONALE:
The Department of Education Order No. 72, series of 2003 establishes YES-O as
the only co-curricular environmental club in school. It is an organization which aims to
implement projects or programs for the environment. Moreover, the said organization
believes that young ones should be the catalyst of change and should be the first ones
to have a sense of environmentalism to ensure a healthy world for generations to come.
Yes-O inspires and trains youths to address environmental issues through community
action projects and campaigns, provide trainings in leadership and environmental
education which will sustain communities as well as the future.
DepEd Memorandum No. 254, s. 2007, the Thrusts and Activities of the Youth
for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) was announced. One of which is to
establish and participate in a school-based camp. The Yes-O club believes that through
such activity, they will be able to inculcate environmental awareness and encourage
students to take part in an action that would protect and conserve the environment and
which in return, save the future.

VIII. OBJECTIVES
1. To strengthen the implementation of the Youth for Environment in Schools (YES)
program pursuant to DepEd Order No. 52 s. 2011 (Strengthening Environmental
Education in Public and Private Schools) and DepEd Memorandum No. 254, s.2007
(Thrusts and Activities of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization)
2. To encourage students’ active participation in protecting, preserving, and rehabilitating
the environment; and
3. To instill environmental values in every student to motivate them in an actual
involvement in worthwhile programs, projects and activities for the environment.
