1.

State the differences and or similarities of unicellular and multicellular

organisms
- A unicellular organism contains a single cell. A multicellular organism
contains multiple cells. Unicellular organisms are Microscopic while
Multicellular organisms is Macroscopic, unicellular includes organisms having
both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell types while multicellular while
multicellular includes organisms comprising only eukaryotic cell types. The
life span of a unicellular is short while the multicellular is long. Unicellular
organisms show a greater tendency to regenerate while Multicellular
organism shows low regeneration ability.
2. What is cell theory
- Cell theory states that living things are composed of one or more cells, that the cell is the
basic unit of life, and that cells arise from existing cells.

3. Name the scientist behind the development of the cell theory

- Theodor Schwann and Matthias Jakob Schleiden
4. Give 3 differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell regarding their
structure
- eukaryotic cells have a membrane-bound nucleus and prokaryotic cells do not. The
nucleus is where eukaryotes store their genetic information. In prokaryotes, DNA is
bundled together in the nucleoid region, but it is not stored within a membrane-bound
nucleus.
- The nucleus is only one of many membrane-bound organelles in eukaryotes.
Prokaryotes, on the other hand, have no membrane-bound organelles. Another
important difference is the DNA structure. Eukaryote DNA consists of multiple molecules
of double-stranded linear DNA, while that of prokaryotes is double-stranded and
circular.
5. Amphipathic molecules contain hydrophilic and hydrophobic parts. What
differences does this two has/have
- The hydrophilic part is a water loving molecule (polar) while the
hydrophobic part is not water loving(non-polar).
6. How can the fluidity of the cell membrane be describe?
-
7. What is selective permeability
- The cell membrane's selective permeability refers to its ability to distinguish
between different types of molecules and being permeable to only certain
molecules and not to all molecules
8. What is/are the functions of transport proteins
- Transport protein allows hydrophilic substances to cross the membrane
9. Name the three transport proteins
- Carrier Protein
- Channel protein
- Gated channel protein
10.State the difference(s) of passive transport (passive diffusion) and the
active transport (active diffusion
- Passive transport does not need ATP to transport molecules while the
active transport needs ATP to transport.
