1. OBJECTIVE
To lay down a procedure for Testing of Equipment’s.

2. SCOPE
This SOP is applicable for testing of equipment’s like Mechanical, electrical or electronics. To
ensure the safety of the end user and to avoid for any mechanical or electrical hazards.

3. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT

Operations and Manuals to be carried for any equipment testing.


3.1 Wire cutters
3.2 Measuring tape
3.3 Drill machine
3.4 Wooden hammer
3.5 Flat file
3.6 Screw drivers
3.7 Open and box spanners
3.8 Crimping tool
3.9 Ladder, plastic sheet, safety glasses

4. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


4.1. MEP Engineer.
4.2. MEP Supervisor

5. STANDARD PRACTICES
5.1 For any Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics equipment’s testing, Operation and manuals
of the concerned equipment to be followed.
5.2 Proper training to be given to the associates for any trouble shooting of the equipment’s.
5.3 Before energizing any equipment, the conformity test reports or calibration test report if it is
to be a tool equipment to be checked.
5.4 Based on the equipment, testing to be done accordingly following the standards.
5.5 Any equipment found to be in with non-compliance and failing the test, the equipment is to
be immediately red tagged as “Unsafe to USE” and removed .

6. Safety
6.1 General electrical Safety to be followed.
6.2 Operator of Electrical equipment, tools, components, etc., should read and familiar with
the owner’s manual, manufacturers recommendation and precautions for electrical safety
including maintenance and services
6.3 Always wear / use PPE while working.
6.4 Beware of overhead power lines and other conductors when working on or operating tall
equipment such as ladders, forklift, hoist, etc., or working at height.
6.5 Never bypass the circuits.

7. Reference
Manufacturer Manual to be followed at all times for any warranty or rectification issues which
are to be addressed only after careful methods and authorized personal only.
