3.1 Focus
In order to make sure the visible component in urine is captured clearly when passing through
focusing plane of microscope, daily focus should be conducted before test.
Note:
2. In order to capture the clear images, the Focus specified by DIRUI should be used.
3.2 Calibration
(a) Standard Solution Storage
♦ Standard Solution is the solution containing RBC, refer to instruction for cell volume.
♦ Standard Solution should be stored at 2--8℃. It can be used after placing at room temperature
for a while.
(b) Standard Solution Usage
♦ Shake before use:inverse the Standard Solution bottle, shake back and forth for 5 times, and
shake the bottle for 5 times, it can be used when no air bubble exists.
♦ The standard solution should be used immediately after unseal. Each bottle is for single time
use, the left can not be used. Standard solution mixture with different lot No. can not be used.
(c) Calibration Frequency
♦ Monthly FUS-100 Urine Sediment Analyzer calibration should be conducted, focus should be
conducted before calibration.
(d) Calibration Preparation
♦ Take 10 glass test tubes, inject 4ml Standard Solution in each tube.
♦ Place 10 test tubes in the test tube rack.
(e) Calibration Note
♦ Place the test tube rack on the right of the sample carrier, click “Calib” in figure 3-1, refer to

Chapter Ⅳ QC
QC function is to check and test analysis accuracy through testing urine control and collecting QC
data.
4.1 Control
(a) About Control
Control is used for QC of dimming and test result. Positive Control is used for abnormal QC,
negative Control is used for normal QC, both positive Control and negative Control are used for
checking whether the instrument can conduct counting accurately.
Positive Control is the ionic equilibrium solution containing fixed volume RBCs. Refer to the
User Manual for cell volume.
Negative Control does not contain particle.
Positive Control and Negative Control must be refrigerated and placed at room temperature for a
while before use.
(b)QC Frequency
Positive and negative QC should be conducted at least once a day, or according to the standard of
lab QC procedure manual. Focus should be conducted before QC.
