THE PYRAMIDS

The Pyramids (also called the Giza Cemetery), is an archaeological site in

Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt, which includes both the Great Pyramid, the
Khafra pyramid, and the Menkaure pyramid along with the associated
pyramids and the Sphinx. All these pyramids were built during the reign
of the Fourth Dynasty of the Ancient Kingdom of Ancient Egypt between
2600 and 2500 BC. The site also includes several cemeteries and remains
of villages.

The Great Pyramid and the Khafra pyramid are among the largest
pyramids built in ancient Egypt, and the Great Pyramid is one of the
Seven Wonders of the World. And to a large extent, the oldest and only
wonders of the world that remain.

It took nearly twenty years to build the Great Pyramid and took ten
years to build corridors and lower parts of the pyramid.

The Giza Pyramids Complex consists of the Great Pyramid (also known as
the pyramid of Khufu or Khufu and built around 2580 – 2560 BC), the
pyramid of Khafra which is somewhat smaller, and the relatively humble
Menkrab pyramid.

A number of experts warn of the dangers of a random urban extension

towards Giza, paving and building roads or tunnels near the area. The
Egyptian government has already started in the mid-1990s by building a
highway near the pyramids. However, UNESCO's anger and threat to
remove the pyramids from the World Heritage List made the Egyptian
president order to stop the road project.

Ancient civilized inscriptions and motifs around all the walls.
