INTRODUCTION
A common mineral consisting of
silicon dioxide (SiO2) that is often
found in the form of colorless
transparent crystals but is
sometimes brightly colored.

According to mohs scale, Quartz is


the fourth strongest material on
Earth with a score of 7 after
diamond, corundum, and topaz.

There is various uses of quartz. e.g.


as gemstone in jewellery production,
as a furniture material, etc.
FORMATION PROCESS

Beneath the earth surface, various


minerals inside the magma will
partially crystalize during
temperature decrease. As the last
mineral to be formed, quartz is
formed during the solidification of
silica-rich magma around 800°C.
