When does the recording start?

Quan comença l’enregistrament?

The recording starts as soon as you start Tandem.

L'enregistrement comença des del moment que inicies el Tandem.

Can we speak in Catalan during the tasks?

Podem parlar en català durant les tasques?

No. We already know your Catalan is excellent! Use English for your conversation
unless you need to help your Tandem partner with a technological problem. If you
can do this in English, even better!

No. Ja sabem que el vostre català és excel·lent! Feu servir l’anglès per la
conversa excepte si necessiteu ajudar-vos sobre temes tecnològics. Si podeu fer
això en anglès, encara millor!
What do we have to do first?

Què hem de fer primer?

Start by saying your names and asking how your partner is.

Comença dient el teu nom i preguntant com està el/la teu/teva company/a.
How will we know what we have to talk about?

Com sabrem de què hem de parlar?

The task instructions will be on your screens. The task instructions may include
images and written instructions. The task may open in a new tab/window
depending on the browser you are using.

Les instruccions de les tasques apareixeran a les vostres pantalles. Les tasques
poden incloure imatges i instruccions escrites. És possible que s’obrin en una
nova pestanya/finestra depenent de navegador que utilitzeu.
Can/should we prepare beforehand?

Podem/hauriem de preparar-nos abans de començar?

Do the self-correcting exercises. Then do the practice Tandem and watch the
recording. You don’t need to prepare your conversation.

Cal fer els exercicis dels materials. Després cal fer la tasca de pràctica i mirar
l’enregistrement. No cal preparar la conversa.
Why?

Per què?
The aim of these tasks is to show your ability to have a spontaneous natural
conversation. Preparing a script will make you sound very unnatural and it will
also have a negative effect on your pronunciation, especially your intonation.

L’objectiu d’aquestes tasques és mostrar que ets capaç de tenir una conversa
espontània i natural. Si et prepares un guió per llegir sonarà artificial i la teva
pronunciació serà pitjor, especialment l’entonació.
Will we lose marks if we don’t know the vocabulary needed in the tasks?

Perdrem punts si no sabem el vocabulari per fer les tasques?

No; if you don’t know the words for some of the tasks, use others to explain what
you mean. Your teacher wants to know how you interact together and not whether
you know specific vocabulary.

No; si no saps les paraules per algunes de les tasques, pots fer servir altres
paraules per a explicar el que vols dir. El/la professor/a vol saber com interactueu
l’un amb l’altre i no si coneixeu vocabulari específic.
Can we do the assessed task more than once?

Podem fer la tasca avaluable més d’una vegada?

Yes, BUT your teacher can see all of your attempts and also if you have previewed
the tasks. Tandem saves recordings of all your conversations. Only your first
attempt will be assessed.

Sí, PERÒ el teu/la teva professor/a podrà veure tots els intents i si heu
previsualitzat les tasques. Tandem desa els enregistraments de totes les
converses. Només el vostre primer intent serà avaluat.
