1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger


2. Achieve universal primary education
3. Promote gender equality and empower women
4. Reduce child mortality
5. Improve maternal health
6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
7. Ensure environmental sustainability
8. Global partnership for development
What are the UN Sustainable Development
Goals (2030)?
● GOAL 1: No Poverty
● GOAL 2: Zero Hunger
● They are also known as the Global Goals ● GOAL 3: Good Health and Well-being

● Adopted in 2015 ● GOAL 4: Quality Education


● GOAL 5: Gender Equality
● By 2030 the goal is to:
● GOAL 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

Are they achievable? What are the greatest
obstacles?

COVID-19 has been said to put the UN’s list of goals out of reach, and although the goals
are ambitious, the UN has since sat down down to revise the list and expectations.

There are some things that are making it more challenging for
the UN to achieve their goals including:
● Spike in food and energy prices
● Rising unemployment rates
● Malnourishment rates are rising
● States are worried about the financial and economic
crises that is greatly affected by trying to achieve their
sustainability goal.
