TECHNICAL REPORT

Project: SEC Main Yard Al Yamama Warehouse.

Location: Dammam
Scope: Maintenance of Fire Fighting and Fire Alarm system.

Observations:

Based on the site visit conducted by team Total Safety Solution Company on 2 nd Feb
2023, the following observations are made,

Fire Fighting System

Fire Fighting systems installed at the site are 1 no of fire hose reel connected to the
vertical pump operated by a pressure switch, the system was not in the working condition,
the fire hose reel is damaged, and pump has seal leakage and not giving enough pressure
for a fire fighting use, the fire hose reel number is not as per the requirement.

Fire Alarm System

Fire Alarm system consist of 1 conventional fire alarm control panel 4 zone, with one
zone used, The FACP was in off position, It has a cable continuity fault. Devices are not as
per the requirement, sounders are not installed inside the main warehouse, and Detectors
are closed with covers. PVC open conduits used for cabling it are not acceptable as per the
standards.

Fire Extinguisher.

Dry powder and Co2 fire extinguisher installed in the yard and warehouse, Automatic
dry powder fire extinguisher installed in warehouses. The number of Auto DP installed less
than required by area, Chemical room is not protected by foam based fire protection
system.

The Exit door is not available in the warehouse as per minimum requirements.

 TSSC PROPOSAL

Fire Fighting System

New Fire pump contains 1 Electric Duty + 1 Diesel standby pump and a control panel
with a capacity 100GPM @ 6 Bar,
Replacing of damaged fire hose reel and addition of 4 fire hose reel with cabinet and
piping to connect the fire hose reel with the pump.

Fire Alarm System

Changing of open pvc conduit to EMT (Electrical metallic cabling) conduit as per the
standard,
Cable continuity fault rectification and repairing,
Replacing of faulty device found during rectification.
Addition of Sounders inside the warehouse.

Fire Extinguisher

Routine inspection of fire extinguishers

Addition of foam trolley fire extinguisher at chemical room.

1 Emergency Exit has to be fixed in the warehouse.
