The project management process relates to how the project is managed.

The
project manager’s role in project management is to maintain an effective and seamless
project flow throughout the lifespan to ensure the project’s success, and PMBOK or
Project Management Body of Knowledge, can assist you in doing so. In the PMBOK,
the initiating process group has two processes that can assist project managers in
effectively starting the project; the planning process group has twenty-four processes
that can assist you in effectively planning and organizing your project work; the
executing process group has eight processes that can assist you in effectively carrying
out the project work; the closing process group has two processes that can assist you in
successfully closing the project; and the monitoring and control process group has two
processes that can assist you in successfully closing the project.
On the other hand, Project life cycle refers on how to finish the project. There are
five (5) process in project’s life cycle:
Initiating – It refers to the process of identifying the project and determining why
you want to begin it.
Planning – After you’ve started the project, you may start thinking about what
you'll do next by determining the scope and goal of your project.
Executing – After you’ve planned your project, you can now put it into action by
completing all of the tasks.
Monitor and Control – Following the completion of the project, you will track,
review, and monitor your progress to ensure that you are meeting all of the project’s
requirements.
Closing – Whether everything is finished, you will complete all of the activities
and be able to see if there are any issues.
All of your project stakeholders have a significant degree of influence as the
project begins, but as the project proceeds, their power fades as the requirements are
met, but the cost change increases. As a result, it’s critical to acquire all of the needs
ahead of time because adjustments might be quite costly.
