reciprocating pump.
5. What are the function of : (1) Injector in Diesel Engine
(2) Carburettor in Petrol Engine.

Q.2 (a) Draw a neat sketch of Babcock and Wilcox boiler. Explain its 06
construction and working.
(b) What amount of heat would be required to produce 5 kg of steam at 05
a pressure of 5 bar (ab) and temperature of 250ºC. from water at
30ºC. Take Cps = 2.1 KJ/Kg K.

diagram.
(b) 0.67 kg of gas at 14 bar and 290ºC is expanded to four times the 05
original volume according to the law PV1.3 = Constant. Calculate:
(1) The original and final volume of gas
(2) The final temperature of the gas.
