oil extraction equipment

一. Overview:

Steam distillation
When an essential oil is extracted and produced by steam distillation, plant material
should be placed in a distiller and steam is injected into the plant material.
The hot steam helps to release aromatic molecules from the plant material, because the
steam can force to open the oil gland cells of the essential oil storage in the plant material.
These volatile essential oil molecules are released from the plant material into the steam.
The temperature of the steam needs to be carefully controlled, just enough for the plant
material to release the essential oil. Too hot will ignite the plant material or essential oil.
The steam, which contains the essential oil, passes through a cooling system and
condenses to form a liquid, so that the essential oil and the water are separated from each
other.
The pressure of the steam used is higher than atmospheric pressure, so the boiling
temperature when the steam is produced is above 100 ° C, which promotes the rapid
release of the essential oil from the plant material and prevents the essential oil from
being damaged.
Some essential oils, such as lavender, are sensitive to heat. With this extraction method,
the essential oil is not damaged, and its components, such as linalool, are not broken
down into linalool (alkyl alcohol, linalool) and acetic acid.

四. Operation steps:
1. Connect the glass condenser to the extraction tank, and the condensate water interface
is properly connected.
2. Power on the device
3. Connect the heating water inlet at the bottom, open the valve and pull up the safety
valve to fill up the heated water in the interlayer.
4. Put the material to be extracted into the tank. Add the extraction liquid, usually 1:5
between the extraction liquid and the material
5. Close the feeding port and turn on the heating switch. Turn on the stirring switch
6. Set the "extraction medium" temperature
7. Turn on the condensate and start the extraction operation

After the water-ring vacuum pump is stopped for a long time, the motor blade cove
r must be removed and the blade must be turned several times by hand before it
can be started.

五. Maintenance and maintenance

1. It is strictly forbidden to operate the vacuum pump without load. Before starting
the vacuum pump, the vacuum pump inlet valve should be opened (the inlet valve
opening should be moderate to control the inlet flow).

2. The equipment should be inspected for each sealing part in each shift, and the l
eakage should be eliminated in time.

3. Check all kinds of instruments once a month.
