CHAPTER 5

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATION

The study aimed to have an assessment on the struggles and coping mechanism of

unemployed people on Talisayan, Specifically, It sought to answer the following

questions:

1. What are the struggles of being unemployed in the midst of pandemic?

2. What are the coping mechanisms of the unemployed individuals in the

community in the midst of pandemic?

Findings

The following are the outcomes of the study:

1. Unemployed people views about their struggles and coping mechanism in the

midst of pandemic.

Based on the responses of unemployed people, most of them had equally views in

terms of struggles, it had 50% agree and also 50% disagree. However, this shown that

unemployment evokes struggles and no struggles at all times of the pandemic.5

While in terms of coping mechanisms, based on the responses of unemployed

people the majority of them agree. It is vividly shown that unemployed people in

Talisayan agree in terms of coping mechanisms.

 2. On the lives of being unemployed.

Base on the findings there were positive and negative responses and effects

caused or evoked by unemployment due to the pandemic. This result is supported by the

fact that most unemployed agreed and disagreed. Moreover , the study found that

unemployment causes coping mechanisms due to all of those unemployed agreeing on

the survey.

Conclusion

The result of the findings indicates the overall analysis on the situation of

unemployed people of Talisayan in term of struggles and coping mechanism. This

indicates that all variable does affect the situation of unemployed people of Talisayan.

Which contradict the results of some researchers from the past that there only negative

effects affecting the situation of unemployed people of Talisayan in times of pandemic,

this result may be a possible contribution of the researchers to barangay Talisayan as the

researchers conducted the study to the said barangay.

Recommendation

Based on the findings and conclusion, the following were recommended to further

improve this study.

1. The scope of the research can be increase from barangay level to city level to

further assess the situation of unemployed.

2. Sponsor a seminar or create a program that focuses on the betterment of the

situation of unemployed people by teaching of enhancing coping mechanism.
