Raden Ajeng Kartini was born to a noble family on April 21, 1879, in the village of Mayong, java
Indonesia. The condition of her family afforded Kartini the opportunity to go to a Dutch school. At the
age of 6. The school opened her eyes to western ideals. In 1903 Kartini had recently been offered a
scholarship to study abroad but the marriage dashed her hopes of accepting it. Struggling to adapt to
isolation, she wrote letters to Ovink-Soer the Dutch schoolmates, protesting the gender inequality of
Javanese traditions such as forced marriages at a young age, which denied women the freedom to
pursue an education.

The reading habit among Indonesian students is still low. There are some causes why it happens.
Firstly, books are relatively expensive in Indonesia publishers claim that the price of raw materials and
the production cost of books are high and keep increasing. Therefore, books are sold expensively; and
consequently, most students can’t afford them.
Secondly, if we browse the book shelves at book store, it is not easy to find real high-quality
books. Some books with good topics may have plain and boring designs, while there are also books
which look good but the contents are almost not worth-reading.
Thirdly, and quite unfortunately, nowadays there are many kinds of activities other than reading,
and young people prefer doing them. These include watching youth soap operas on TV, listening to
music and songs with meaningless lyrics or just hanging out at shopping malls. Such activities clearly
do not offer as much learning as the book reading habit does. And, clearly, they forget saying “a book
is the window to the world”.
In conclusion, if we want to increase reading habit among Indonesian students we can begin by
lowering the price of books, increasing the quality of the books and motivating students that reading
is more beneficial than any other activities.

Water is very important for human, animal, and plant. Water moves from one place to another.
Do you know how water cycle works?
Solar energy evaporates exposed water from seas, lakes, rivers and wet soil, the majority of this
evaporation takes place over the seas. Water is also released into the atmosphere by the plants through
photosynthesis. During this process, known as evapotranspiration, water vapor rises into the
atmosphere.
Clouds are formed when air becomes saturated with water vapor. The two major types of cloud
formation are stratified or layered grey clouds called surutus and following white or dark grey cloud
called cumulus clouds.
Precipitation as rain or hail ensures the heated water reruns to earth’s surface in a fresh form.

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous structures in the world. It was named after Alexander.
Eiffel whose team of engineers designed it. It cost £260,000 to build in 1889 with most of the money
being provided by Eiffel himself and the French state. The Eiffel Tower rises to a height of 985 feet and
for over forty years it was the highest structure in the world.
The top may be reached by using lifts and stairs with the first platform being 189 feet and the
third at 906 feet above the ground. The structure is largely composed of triangulated sections and this
allowed the engineers to build the tower so high.
It was originally looked upon as a temporary structure, built for the 1889 World’s Fair. The World
Fair coincided with the centenary of the French Revolution. For forty years it was the tallest manmade

entered as part of a competition. Alexander Gustave Eiffel’s company won the competition and so the
Tower became known as the Eiffel Tower. However, it was Morris Koechlin an employee of Eiffel that

of elephants to the jungle. The King hold a competition.
He announced to all the people, “for those who could bring the princess back to the kingdom,

There was a well-known commander in the country named Panglima Sekunca. Panglima means
Commander. There was also a handsome Youngman took part in this contest. Commander Sekunca
always underestimated this Youngman. The Commander thought that he was the strongest man in the
country. He felt that the man was nothing but he was a weak and stubborn man. But this young man
was a patient man. He ignored Sekunca’s insignificance words. The man followed Commander into the
jungle.
They finally arrived at the place in the middle of the jungle where the elephants and the King of
Elephants lived, and they saw the princes sit in the middle of the elephants. Commander Sekunca was
very afraid of this and he asked the Youngman to fight the elephants first. The Youngman could defeat
the elephants including the King of Elephants.
Commander Sekunca cheated the Youngman. In the middle of their journey back to the kingdom,
Commander Sekunca left the Youngman and took the Princess alone. He would tell the King that he
himself had saved the Princess, so he would get the prize.
But, at the eighth day of their marriage, the Youngman arrived at the place and the ceremony
stopped. The Princess told the King that this Youngman had saved her from the elephants. Finally, the
Youngman got the prize to marry the Princess and became the ruler of the kingdom.
