2. Enable Quick Chip functionality via CATAPULT WebOffice® (requires a single advanced
setting; details are provided at Quick Chip on PIN Pads).
3. JPOS file: Ensure you have an appropriate jPOS file (a mandatory file that enables card
processing at the PIN Pad)
a. Review the CATAPULT TS revision of the POS terminal
b. If the POS terminal was initially installed with CATAPULT TS 5.5.2 or later, no change to
the jpos file is needed.
c. If the POS terminal is newly upgraded from CATAPULT versions below 5.5.2, you must
update the jpos file as directed below.
i. Locate the file to be edited – C:\Program Files (x86)\ECRS\CatapultPos\jpos.xml
ii. Using Windows Notepad or other line editor, create a working file that will
ultimately be saved as the new (replacement) jpos file. For purposes of reference
within these directions, the working file name will be named workingfile.txt, but
you may use another filename of your preference.
vi. In another window, still using Windows Notepad or other line editor, open
C:\Program Files (x86)\ECRS\CatapultPos\jpos.xml
vii. Copy and paste the contents of workingfile.txt to the bottom of jpos.xml.
ix. When you are satisfied that the jpos file is appropriately edited, you may close the
line editor windows.

5) Load Forms
The CATAPULT TS Touchpad Utility is used to load most forms to your PIN Pad that are required
by your installation of CATAPULT. Store Logos or other base images are loaded using CATAPULT
WebOffice®.
1. Touchpad Utility is an ECRS program that installs into the same folder as TS installs into.
You may run the program from that folder in Windows File Manager
2. An alternate way to launch the utility is press the Windows-Start key, then type “Touchpad
Utility”. The Touchpad Utility may be started from the resulting Start screen by
selecting Open from the right-hand window under Touchpad Utility – App

installed on a system with an outdated version of CATAPULT TS. In this
situation, updating TS will provide the most reliable operation.
