    This study examined the distribution and abundance of gelatinous zooplankton along the Tamil Nadu coastal waters in India. Samples were collected monthly between 2009-2010 using plankton nets. A total of 15 gelatinous zooplankton species were identified, with the highest abundances found during the post-monsoon and monsoon seasons. The moon jellyfish Aurelia aurita and the sea gooseberry Pleurobrachia pileus were the most dominant and widely distributed species observed.
