1.1 Objective

To calculate the force using force sensor.

1.2 Apparatus

• Force sensor
• Sensor interface with PC

1.3 Setup

• Interface the force sensor with PC via Universal interface.

Figure 1.1 Interfacing force sensor with PC

• Do necessary settings in the PC software for proper readings and plots.

• Then hold the force sensor in one of your hands.

1.4 Procedure

1. As the force sensor is placed in one of your hands, try pulling the string attached to the hook or if
string isn’t attached just pull the hook of force sensor downward by using your other hand to apply
force.

2. The moment you start pulling the hook of force sensor, press the record button on software to
get readings plots.
3. Then stop applying force. But, don’t stop taking readings on software.
4. Repeat the first and third steps several times.

1.6 Conclusion

From the above results (data and graphs), we can conclude that as the force on the force sensor
increases a spike is observed in the graph and when the applied force is stopped, it doesn’t
automatically go to zero but goes to negative values before going to zero. Also, the spike on the
graph is also limited to 50N this is because the maximum value this force sensor can measure is 50N.
