Results of English Competition Reports

A. Background
Open house is one of the events that strengthens the bond between parents, children
and teachers. In the open house event, several competitions were held, one of which was an
English competition. It aims to make children dare to appear in English in the form of poetry
reading, singing, and storytelling.
The competition can be followed from kindergarten to Junior High School level. This
means that the competition is intended for those aged 5 to 15 years. To take part in the
competition, the jury prepared several categories that would be assessed so that participants
could pay attention. These categories are pronunciation, intonation, and expression.
Pronunciation is needed so that the listener understands what is conveyed by the
contestants. Furthermore, good intonation will affect the content of what is conveyed. then, to
convey the message, participants must have expressions. if participants fulfill these three
things, they can get good points.

B. Participants
This competition can be followed by participants aged 5 to 15 years. In this event, the
participants who participated consisted of 7 children with an age range 5 to 10 years. The
competitions that followed were storytelling and singing. Biodata for participants will be

C. Activity Results
Of the seven participants who took part in the competition, 3 winners were obtained.
The winner is judged based on predetermined categories, namely pronunciation, intonation,
and expression. The assessment was carried out by two judges, one from EF and one from
Pioneer Montessori School. The first winner of the competition was won by Fiona Sentosa
with an English song singing competition. He received a prize in the form of a trophy and
money of Rp. 200,000. Then, the second winner was won by Sadalmelik Faustin with the
storytelling he told. He got a prize in the form of a trophy and money of Rp. 150,000.
Meanwhile, Pranaja won third place with a solo song he sang. He got a hat and Rp. 100,000.

D. Documentation
From this English competition, we documented several activities. These activities
include the appearance of the participants who took part in the competition.
