REFLECTION PAPER

Sharing is beneficial, as has frequently been stated. Sharing is advantageous

to both the giver and provider of the good deed as well as the beneficiary of it. People who
share what they have are frequently seen as being happy and joyful. It could take the shape of
cash, goods, services, time, or anything else that can be used to benefit someone else. As a
result, more people are now willing to perform humanitarian deeds without expecting anything in
return. The knowledge and feeling that someone else is enjoying and making good use of the
things offered or donated is the best comfort one can derive from humanitarian actions.

After days of meetings with my groupmates on where we should conduct our

donation, we have finally decided to choose the Bahay-ampunan nina Hesus, Maria, & Jose at
Brggy. Canlalay, Binan, Laguna. During our donation drive, it’s a heartfelt experience to see
those kids having a smile on their faces. You can see the happiness in their eyes and how
thankful they are. Little did they know, we are much more thankful to them because they let us
experience a very fun and exciting moment. I never thought that I could survive that day
because I know I don’t like kids' behaviors. Inconsistent, selfish, apathetic. Those were the
words I described myself as. Inconsistency in the form lack of loyalty, selfishness which stems
from greed, and apathy that beholds humanity. But, upon getting involved in this donation drive
and act of kindness, I’ve learned to let go of pre-existing prejudice I have for people of different
classes. I was welcomed with an impactful slap in the face I have never prepared for and I am
very much thankful for it. Giving also helps communities who would not otherwise have access
to necessities like basic services and goods enhance their quality of life. As organizations work
to improve the lives of the less disadvantaged, karma steps in to deliver good news and better
chances to the donation.

In conclusion, the joy of sharing is contagious. One grows happier the more
they offer, thus they are more willing to share as a result. A person becomes a testament to
another when others see how joyful they are as a result of giving, which encourages others to
share and give to others. One's happiness and satisfaction therefore stem not only from getting
presents from others but also from realizing that one is capable of positively impacting the lives
of others through charitable acts.
