Research- Week 3

8 STEC

Hypothesis: if the bread is placed in a warm temperature for one whole week then the said set up will
have the most growth of mold because mold grows best in warm most condition.

Independent variable: Setup A: place inside the refrigerator

Dependent variable: Setup B: place in a warm environment

Controlled variable: Setup C: place in a room temperature

Materials: in order to conduct the experimental research the following materials are needed: three
slices of bread, three pieces of zip lock bag, ruler, refrigerator or ice chest, tongs, and personal
protective equipments, search ask goggles, rubber gloves, and face mask. laboratory notebook and pen
are also needed to record the progress in the findings.

Mythodology: to start the process, preparing the materials as well as the self should be done which
includes wearing of proper attire. the three pieces of bread should be put inside the zip lock bag
individually which will be placed under three different temperature. Labeling is crucial in this part
because it provides identifications. Label the first zip lock bag with cold temperature and put it inside
the refrigerator. Label the second zip lock bag with warm temperature and put it inside a warm room or
area. Label the third zip lock bag bathroom temperature and place it in a state area with an
approximately 27 degrees Celsius. After setting the set ups at the same time, take a documentation
because it will be useful when comparing lateron. Leave the setups. After 24 hours, take another
documentation. For one week, examine each set up and record the finding. Documentation and pictures
should also be included as part of recording to show significant progress of the growth of the mold from
the different set up on the last day, measure the modes for each setup using the ruler and record the
measurement.

Result: the first set up where the bread report inside the refrigerator showed no growth of molds since
there was no moist and the temperature was low. In the second set up the bread grow a significant size
of growth of more cause warm environment produces moist which is the needed factor for a mold to
grow. In the last set up, which is for control set up the bread grew little amount of mold. In conclusion,
the warm environment affects most the growth rate of molds inbred for a warm environment produces
moist and contributes to the culture. The hypothesis for this experiment that research Wes proven to be
true. Through preparing death three different setups.
1. The principles strategy for collecting primary data is through observations and measuring.
2. Independent- temperature
Dependent- moist
3. Why am environment affect most the growth rate of molds in bread for warm environment
produces moist and contributes to the culture.
4. the methodology can be improved by adding possible agents are factors that can contribute to
the growth of molds.

Performance Task:

1. Material and equipment, research design, source of data, data gathering procedure,
instrumentation, statistical treatment.
2. hypothesis serves as a guide in designing the experiment and it creates relationship between
two or more variables. It also provide primary or educated answer to the research question.
3. Methods provide precise step by step procedure that the experiment should undergo. Having
detailed methods help the researcher for the next step up until the end. it will also serve as a
guide for future researcher who will either improve the study or use the study for any related
research.
