Definition of a hardware

 These are the physical components that a computer system requires in order to perform it's functions.
 Is a collection of all the crucial parts of a computer system one can physically touch.

-computer system hardware can be classified into two main categories

1. Internal hardware devices (known as components)

2. External hardware devices(Also known as peripheral devices)

Internal hardware devices

-these are seen as the processing hardwares of the computer system they include:

I. Mother board
II. Central processing unit (CPU)
III. Hard disc drive(HDD)
IV. Random access memory (RAM)
V. Optical discs (DVD/CD)
VI. Power supply
VII. Graphics card

-Ventilation fans

-these components are used to process raw data instructions into information

External hardware devices

- these send instructions to the computer system.

-found on the outside of the computer system hence peripherals

-are used input raw data into the computer system

-are used to disseminate data and information to the user

-used for disseminating information among colleagues.
