Duties and power of the different officiating official of basketball points.

1. Umpire

The duties of umpires is to maintain standards of play at sporting events. Essential job duties of an
Umpire are observing game rules, awarding points, imposing penalties, determining results, identifying
infractions, examining participants to make sure they follow safety regulations, verifying scoring
regulations, and announcing winners.

2. Referee

The role of the basketball referee is exactly this to ensure the game is played safely and fairly. A Referee
will explain rules as needed and ensure that all participants understand these rules. The referee
enforces the rules of the game and in a game will make hundreds of decisions determining when a
violation or foul occurs and then stopping the game to issue the correct penalty.

3. Scorer

The scorekeeper's primary responsibility is to accurately record a game's score. Each time a team scores
one or more points, the scorekeeper must post the updated score on the scoreboard.

4. Timer

Timekeepers are responsible for monitoring game time. But, their key function is tracking basketball
time clock rules. The timekeeper is charged with carrying out the duties of timekeeping according to the
regulations of basketball. So, they should be familiar with all the rules and timing obligations in the
game.
