    Scenario – 1 : The Discussion

    Manoj: Ashita wa Kanishka -san no tanjobi desu. Dou shiyou ? ( Tomorrow is A-san’s birthday. What
    shall we do? )

    Mangalam: Keeki o kaimashou ka ? ( Let’s buy a cake. Shall we? )

    Deepika: Iidesu ne. ( Sounds good )

    Sid: Dewa ashita kaimono ni ikimashou. ( Then lets go shopping tomorrow and buy a cake )

    Scenario – 2 : Entering the mall


    Narrator: Watashi to …. to wa keeki o kau ni ikimasu. Hokano minna wa purezento o kau ni
    ittekudasai. ( Me, p1, p2 and p3 will go and buy a cake. The others buy a present )

    Scenario – 3 : Buying a cake


    Tanushri: Irashimasen !!! Nani ga hoshi desu ka ? ( Welcome! Is there something you want ? )

    Manoj: Hai, tanjōbi no keeki wo onegaishimasu. ( Yes, a cake for a friend’s birthday )

    Tanushri: Wakarimashita. Nanno aji ga hoshi desu ka ? ( Got it. What flavour would you like ? )

    Mangalam: Chokoretto wo onegaishimasu. ( Chocolate )

    Deepika: Kono namae o eigo de kaitekudasai. ( Write this name in English )

    Tanushri: Hai, douzo. ( Yes, Here you go )

    Sid: Kore wa ikura desu ka ? ( How much is this )

    Tanushri: 1200 yen desu. ( 1200-en )

    Manoj: Hai douzo. ( Here you go )

    Together: Arigato gozaimasu. ( Thank you so much )

    Tanushri: Mata kite kudasai. ( Please visit again )

    Scenario – 4 : Buying a present


    Manoj: Kono リモートカー wa ii to omoimasu. ( I think this is good )

    Mangalam: Kare ni wa suki de wa nai to omoimasu. Sore wa ii kana….. ( I don’t think it would be to
    his liking. How about this one. )

    Deepika: manga wa motto ii to omoimasu. ( I think this would be better. )

    Sid: ongaku CD mo ii to omoimasu. ( Yeah I think that’s good too. )

    Manoj: jya manga ni shimashou. ( Then lets go with it. )


    Deepika: Kono manga wa ikura desu ka? ( How much is this ? )

    Tanushri : Sono manga wa 500 yen desu. ( That would be 3000 yen. )

    Deepika: Kore wo onegaishimasu. ( Then please give this. )

    Tanushri: Hokano nanika hoshii desu ka? ( Do you want anything else ? )

    Sid: Iie, ijoudesu desu. ( No, that’s all. )

    Tanushri : Doumo arigato gozaimasu. ( Here you go. Thank you. )

    Tanushri: Mada kite kudasai. ( Please visit again. )
