IDEAS 2022
IDEAS brings together international manufactures and suppliers of products and services to
explore the opportunities for cooperation in the field of defence production through joint
ventures, outsourcing, and collaboration.
The 11th Edition of International Defence Exhibition and Seminar, IDEAS 2022 was scheduled
from 15th – 18th November 2022 at Karachi Expo Center (KEC). This event is significantly being
commemorated through enhanced participation of Pakistan Armed Force, national and
international defence industry, OEMs, entrepreneurs and high level national and international
defence delegations. The new features are aimed to make IDEAS an effective platform for
defence Buyers and Sellers. I

Economic cost of IDEAS 2022

The 11th edition of IDEAS 2022 has an overwhelming response globally 300 delegates from 64
countries were confirmed.
Brigadier Naveed Azam Cheema said,” IDEAS 2022 is our National Cause” and aims to enhance
the export of this country for economic revival. This International event is providing the
platform to defence researchers and scientists to synergize their effort and connectivity will
bridge the gaps which is viable solution. IDEAS is an iconic platform for showcasing the latest
defence technologies, and is a regional gateway for international suppliers and manufacturers
to explore new avenues of defence cooperation through joint ventures, outstanding and
collaborations.
In todays globalized world, national security has emerged as a dynamic concept that is as much
economic, social, political and institutional as it is military and strategic in nature. IDEAS has
emerged as an international rendezvous for defence manufacturers, entrepreneurs, R&D
specialists, financial experts, and top policymakers for defence collaboration. These events are
really beneficial for economy. By holding IDEAS 2022 foreign delegates and exhibitors had a
comfortable stay and a message will be conveyed to the world that Pakistan is a peaceful
country and has the organizational skills to hold grand event in the most organized way. And
this is a positive point for Pakistan’s economy. Because of this Pakistan can get many events
and projects in the future by which Pakistan can further improve its economy.
Ecological cost of IDEAS 2022
The theme of IDEAS 2022 is ‘Arms for Peace’, reflected Pakistan’s desire for peace and stability.
IDEAS had evolved in to a platform that highlighted Pakistan’s growing footprint in the global
defence market. However, the event this year has surpassed all previous milestones in term of
space, booking, exhibitors and delegates both domestic and foreign. Karachi Expo Centre has
booked to its capacity with more then 500 exhibitors from different countries. Regards to the
hosting of the event of that large scale, in such a place. In regards to pollution, traffic and all
that sort of stuff. Keeping it contained to the Karachi, was the ecological cost of hosting such a
massive event worth the economic cost.
Such events cause impacts resulting from activities such as construction, energy use and
transport of spectators and participants, which in turn impact on major environmental issues
such as climate change and the reduction in natural resources.

 There are environmental impacts from an event (IDEAS2022) throughout the period of
preparation for the event, as well those during, and concluding, the event in Karachi.
For many types of impact, the larger the event, the greater the negative environmental
impact.
 Waste is one of the most visible environmental impacts arising from IDEAS 2022.
However, nature and destination of waste associated with an event, either as part of
infrastructure development, event operations or visitor consumption are complex to
measure. This is due to mix of responsible agents from venues and participants.
 Energy use during the preparation of objectives to present in IDEAS 2022.
 IDEAS 2022 were held in Karachi Expo Center, Karachi is responsible for around 75% of
global greenhouse gas emission, with transport, buildings, energy, and waste
management being among the largest contributors. And this time there was a large
number of people present in the event which had a bad effect on the ecosystem of city.
Because the center was full, and a very large number of peoples were standing outside
the center. Because of these peoples, the road was blocked with caused huge traffic.
