As per cliché, we are the nation of hope,

Bounded for a bountiful life and bright tomorrows

But looking at it now, we are fed by paradoxes
and our government is slowly turning into falsery and hoaxes

We are poor, and full of fear

An empty stomach, eyes with tears
We are unable to stand, our hope was lost
For the government that we have is starting to frost

Your stomach is not obligations of government

You can work and you can be independent
Not all the time, government will be there
All of your problems that you need to care.

How can we work and be independent

If the government we have is a torment
If you, officials don’t care
Our world doesn’t have hope of being fair

Start opening your mind, and see the reality

Government isn’t the reason of your own misery
Try to be responsible and do the action
So that poverty will not be your destination

The gap between the rich and the poor is getting bigger each day
If only we had a fair and just government, things might never be this way
No matter how hard we try, success is impossible, if other people drag us down
And expressing concern to the officials, causes them to frown.

You have the power, brought by democracy

It is yours to carry, not government's responsibility
Yes, it is hurtful that you face poverty
Work for yourself, as you are free

Truly, that country has democracy, and the people have the power.
But the government is still superior and the reigning controller.
Their set standards make people weaker.
Make people leave the country and take the risk for the better.
The hope is still condemned because of inequality
Punishable penalty of putting ambiguity into world’s economy
To the government who reigns towards poverty
which are supposed to be an educated country.

Poor young people who are homeless and sleeping in rough

And their lives are already tough enough
At the erroneous part of the social divide
Any possibility of a good future for them is denied
Where the government is still blind to the situation that we have.

As Filipinos, we have freedom and choice

And our struggles and chaos will never make the government rejoice
To live a well-ruled yet democratic life, we need to unite as one
And blaming anyone all our problems will never make us better Juans
