Course This course shall be tackling topics that revolves around governance and social responsibility which entails maintaining a balance
Description between governance and social objectives, as well as individual and communal objectives specifically applicable in the corporate sector.
The relationship between good governance and corporate social responsibility (CSR) shall be thoroughly discussed in this program. It
starts with a look at how corporate governance contributes to shareholder value creation. It focuses on how the corporation and its
board of directors interact with its shareholders and other stakeholders, i.e. how corporate governance serves or fails to serve their
interests. It discusses the assumptions that underpin corporate governance theories, as well as the predicted effects of different board
structures and makeup. It then looks at the situation of corporate democracy, the question of accountability, and significant corporate
governance legislation. Good governance is important not only for corporations, but also for society; there is a growing recognition that
corporate governance and social responsibility are intertwined.
