The elephant is one of the largest and strongest animals. It is a strange looking animal with its
thick legs, huge sidesvand backs, large hanging ears, small tail, little eyes, long white tusks and above all
its long nose, the trunk.
The trunk is the elephant’s peculiar feature, and it has various uses. The elephant draws up water
with its trunk and can squirt it all over its body like shower. It can also lift leaves and put them into its
mouth. In fact, the trunk serves the elephant as a long arm and hand. An elephant look very clumsy and
heavy, and yet it can move very quickly.
The elephan is very intellegent animal. Its intellegent combined with its great strenght make it a
very useful servant to human kind and it can be trained to serve in various way such as carrying heavy
loads, hunting for tigers and even fighting

Makassar: Luwutimur police in South Sulawesi has confiscated 740 logs which they suspect cut illegally, and
questioned eight people in relation to the case.
The logs were confiscated last week in two raids as they were being transported on trucks from protected forest
area.
Police Chief Adj. Comr. Richard Nainggolan said some of the logs were seized in a protected forest area. “the carrier

The following text is for question number 45 – 48
Wood chipping is a process used to obtain pulp and paper products from the forest trees. The wood
chipping process begins when the trees are cut down in a selected area of the forest called a coupe.
Next the tops and the branch of the trees are cut out and then the logs are taken to the mill. At the
mill the bark of the logs is removed and the logs are taken to a chipper which cut them into small pieces
called woodchips. Then, the woodchips screened to remove the dirt and other impurities.
At this stages they are either to export in this form or changed into pulp by chemical and heat.
