Reflective Essay
a. Describe your experience in OR in 3 sentences, considering that you do not
have any idea at all in Perioperative nursing.
-It's fun to work in the OR. You will be directly involved in the action, aiding
patients before and after surgery, supporting the physicians and nurses, and
contributing significantly to the efficient operation of the OR team. While choosing a
profession in the OR has numerous advantages and is a wise decision, there are also
difficulties. These difficulties are not big enough for individuals who work in the OR to
overshadow the benefits of having a fulfilling, helpful profession that is exciting and aids
people on a regular basis. This task's degree of stress and intensity is one of its main
challenges. When the surgery is challenging, urgent, or life-or-death, an operating room
may be extremely stressful. It may be a stressful environment where there is a lot of
demand for each team member to perform successfully. Working in an operating room
can be physically demanding. Patients and equipment must be moved by techs in the
OR. They must stand for extended amounts of time, often for many hours during
lengthy, complex procedures, much like the other team members. To do this work well
and to feel at ease in the OR, one must be physically active.
b. Do you think the provided videos will make your confidence increase after
learning some of the surgical instruments and the ideal way in gloving and
gowning?
-After seeing these videos, I feel like my confidence has grown a little bit. I was
better able to utilize this surgical equipment correctly as a result of this. I was able to
comprehend things better because of the video's simplicity. If I could do it in a real
circumstance, I believe it would be different.
