Homeopathic Treament of Burns - Tratamentul homeopatic în arsuri

This text is a contribution and you will read how to work on small and even bigger burns. I will
give all kinds of hints for several situations. It is my aim that in all those situations, wherever you
may be, you can make the choice how to treat a burn (smaller or even bigger) in all
circumstances. Which method you choose in a particular situation, depends on that situation and
the circumstance. Most important is that you start doing something and perhaps later you can
change your method of treating when you have arranged something or when you are in a better
situation, e.g. someone helped you to get the right materials.
Always stay on the safe side and then the consequences about a wrong method are not that big.
Everything I do (in what way) is to treat the patient as good as I can. So far I treated many burns
and I am quite happy with the result. When you don’t trust yourself, stay on the safe side and
follow the rules of regular medical treatment. But when there is a real emergency, you have to do
something!! Start treating minor burns with homeopathical measures and you will learn that
these measures can do lots of good. After some time it is perhaps possible for you to treat bigger
burns with unconventional measures. Because of the “safe side” I start with the “regular medical
story” and after that I will write about my own idea’s about treatment of burns.
What are idea’s about burns in regular medical care. The text that follows is from a site on which
the “Foundation of Dutch Family Doctors” clearly states how to work in cases of burns.
“A burn. What is it?
When you come in contact with heat a burn can appear.
There are different degrees in burns:
1st degree burn is red, dry and painful.
2nd degree burn is also red and painful, but the spot is moist and vesicles occur.
3rd degree burn is yellowish/white with no pain, while it is really a serious burn. The burn is so
deep that the nerves in the affected tissue are destroyed. That is why there is no pain. When the
burn is even more serious, you will see black spots: like “coal”.
Why can burns occur?
Burns can occur because of contact with hot water or fat: a pot of tea that falls from the table or
while cooking and a pan with heated oil or fat that falls from the stove. Think of a shower that is
too hot. You can also burn on a flame of by touching something hot or by electricity.
Your throat can burn by breathing in hot steam or hot air. Also the sun can be the source of a
burn, especially when the skin is not adapted to the sun. Also artificial sun-machines can cause a
burn.
What is the problem of a burn?
A burn has mostly the effect of fight and pain. The seriousness of a burn does not only depend on
the grade of the burn, but also on the extend of the burn. Burning a big part of the body, like the
whole back or a leg, can be quite dangerous. From big burns much fluid is running, so the danger
of dehydration is there. Then there is the possibility of shock, because there is too little
circulating fluid in the body. Also infections can occur and make a burn more serious. When a
big part of the skin is burnt, bacterias can easily give infections. 1st en 2nd can heal almost
without scars or cicatrices. Serious burns (3rd degree) can give cicatrices or even keloid: the skin
can turn to be hardened, so that motion of joints can give difficulties.
What can you do yourself? You can do much to prevent burns!!
Put your pans on the backside of the stove, especially when you have small children. Don’t put a
teapot on the edge of the table, but in the middle. Use good oven-gloves in the oven instead of on
old piece of cloth. You take all of these kind of measures to prevent accidents.
When there is a burn, it is important to cool down under streaming water. Then the harm is
restricted. Icy cold water at the other hand gives cooling down of the body. The water should not
be too cold. When there is no “streaming water” use wet cloths. Even putting a burnt limb in a
ditch is better than nothing.
Do not remove any clothing. When you take clothing aways you will damage the skin. Even
when there are vesicles, do not remove the clothes. The surface of the vesicles protect the body
against infections. Besides that you loose precious time.
Do not touch a burn to prevent the chance of infection. Do not put any ointment on a burn. There
is no use of putting a bandage or gaze on a dry and red burn. When the wound is open (vesicles
are damaged) just put a clean towel on top of the burn so that no dirt can come in contact with
the burn.
When to go to the local medical doctor.
First cooling down is very important. Only after cooling down, call medical assistance:
When a yellowish/white dry spot occurs, with no pain (probable burn of 3rd degree.
When there is a moist, red burn or vesicle is in your face, hands or genitals;
When the burn is bigger than de palm of the hand of the person who has the burn;
When after some days yellowish/green fluid comes out of the wound (serious infection);
When the burn after some days becomes more red and more painful;
When the person with the burn is a baby or a toddler.
When there is a possibility of internal burning by inhalation of steam or hot air, you have to
contact your local doctor immediately.
When there are other circumstances and symptoms you are worrying about, call your local
doctor!!! (October 2006.)”
What follows now are ideas from homeopathic point of view to give support in treatment of
burns.
In the MM of so called “first aid remedies” (Acon., Arn., Calen., Urt.) you can read information
how to use them in case of burns. Read those remedies together with this text about the treatment
of burns.
Small burns are painful and the bigger ones (esp. 2nd and 3rd degree) are painful and dangerous.
The bigger 3rd degree burns are life-threatening and treatment has to be done by professionals.
Call the emergency, tell who you are, where you are, tell what has happened, stay calm and don’t
leave the burnt person. When you want to learn how to handle and treat burn, you can start
treating small 1st and 2nd degree burns. These burns are not so heavy and you can learn how to
do it and you will the results. Sometimes the burns are big and of course there is a possibility that
you have to treat serious and big burns. Try to stay calm, try to think what has to be done and
make the best of is. When you don’t trust yourself, stick to the general rules and ask for help.
When you like to do something yourself go on reading.
I like to start with this: the big danger of a large 2nd degree burn is the formation of
veslicles/blisters. Much fluid in the circulation is drawn out of the circulation and there is the
danger of dehydration of the body. This is cold a “shock”: not enough circulating fluid anymore.
What has happened? The blood vessels and the lymphatic vessels are damaged by the heat and
the fluid comes out of those vessels; you will see this under the skin: formation of large
vesicles/blisters. When these vesicles/blisters are damaged, the fluid come out of the body and
the tap is still open. Now there is even the danger of infection. The most important thing is to
stop this leaking of fluid.
This can be done by closing and repairing the blood and lymphatic vessels. The fluid must
remain within the vessels. Mostly the smallest vessels are damaged and we can repair these
capillaires by giving Arnica. Extended 2nd degree burns can be treated by Arnica. Give the
remedy in 30K in repeated doses until relief sets in. When the capillaires are closed, transport of
fluid can start again and the leakage will stop.
When you see the relief you can start doubling the interval of the doses. When you see big fear at
the same time, of course you can alternate with Acon. and the patient will be more cooperative.
Perhaps it will be difficult to decide whether to start with Acon. or Arn., but my advice is to start
with both in alternating doses, just each remedy one minute after the other in the beginning.
When the fear is over, you can stop Acon. Perhaps later on it can be given again.
Even without taking care of the burn itself (too much fear in yourself??) you can help the patient
with Arnica and Aconitum.
Now I will follow taking care of the burn.
I have a list of materials you can use and later on I will explain in which case you use a certain
remedy.
1. A spray or gel called “Combudoron” (Weleda). In Combudoron is 5% Arnica en 95% Urtica.
It is a beautiful combination to work with, because Arnica will repair the capillaires and Urtica
takes away the burn.
2. Arnica tincture and Arnica 30K.
3. Urtica urens tincture and 30K.
4. Calendula tincture, ointment, emulsion and 30K. (Name of emulsion: Calendulan).
5. Hypericum tincture, ointment and 30K.
6. Alcohol 70% (perhaps a little bit lower in percentage or rum, jenever, portwine or even wine.
7. Eggs.
8. Terpentine.
9. A candle.
10. Luke water.
11. Gazes, small and broader one.
12. Plastic sacs (smaller and bigger ones).
13. Plaster.
14. Material to bind up and dress a wound.
15. Your hair.
16. Cantharis 30K.
17. Keloïd-gel by Wala.
And now the burn itself.
1st degree burn
A small 1st degree burn (pain and redness) can be easily treated by Combudoron (or make a mix
by your self of both tinctures: a little bit of Arnica somewhat more Urt.u.). Mix this with some
water and sprinkle this on the burn. Don’t touch the skin. Repeat this as long as the pain
continues. After two or three hours you can continue with Calendulan emusion (or ointment). In
the emulsion is a little bit camphor and this camphor lessens the pain a little bit. Calendula
ointment gives a fast recovery impulse to the skin. Of course you can start immediately with
Calendula in any form, e.g. the emulsion. Think of Calendula when Combudoron is not
available. Try to be creative.
In the same way you can work on some bigger 1st degree burns (when the skin is burnt by the
sun, or someone was sleeping in the sun. Think also about Urt.u. 30K and Calend. 30K internally
besides the external treatment. Big burnt surface: do it both.
Some ideas when a finger had got a 1st degree burn (fire, stove, etc. etc.). There are some
possibilities:
Keep your finger next a source of heat (a burning candle), not above the candle, but next to the
candle, until you feel the heat, take the finger away and repeat this until the pain is definitely
gone. Then it is time to use Calendula ointment or emulsion.
Rub your finger in your hair, until you feel the heat, stop for a moment and repeat this until the
pain is gone. Then it is time again for Calendula (in any form, but emulsion will do best.
Put a little bit Urtica tincture (in a little bit water) on the burn and repeat this until the pain is
gone. Then Calendula again.
Put pure terpentine (painter!!!) on the spot. A little bit later Calendula-ointment or emulsion.
Try pure alcohol (the higher the percentage, the better, don’t take more than 70%), put some
gaze on the vesicles (when they are there) and wet the gaze with alcohol, put the burnt hand in a
plastic bag (quite small) and tie the plastic bag with plaster or caoutchouc or a cord or string.
After 12 hours you take away everything away and then start with Calendula ointment (quite a
thick layer): you will be amazed by this way of treating burns!!!
Put a broken raw egg on the spot and take care with gaze and plastic. Later on Calendula
ointment or emulsion.
Try Combudoron and Calendula ointment or emulsion.
Combinations of all which is mentioned above.
Large 1st degree burn (approx. 10 x 10 cm or 10 x 20 cm).
Same treatment as mentioned before.
Never remove clothes!!!!!
Perhaps, when under the clothes are yet 2nd degree burns (with vesicles/blisters), then you will
tear the vesicles open and then the problems will be bigger than they were before.
Through the clothes, you cannot use Combudoron, but you can use dissolved Urtica-tincture. Put
a little bit of the tincture from the bottle in a liter luke warm water and you can wet with this
Urtica-water a whole arm or chest. Keep it wet with warm Urtica-water. After some time (1 or 2
hours) you mix with it also Calendula-tincture, because of the healing qualities of Calendula.
When the patient is very frightened, give also Acon. 30 internally in repeated doses, as long as is
needed to calm the person. Even a child can become quite calm after half an hour or so.
If you can work on the skin (without clothes), then use Combudoron (or your own mixture of
Arn. and Urt.-tincture), followed by Calendula emulsion (or ointment). Continue the treatment
for at least two days or even somewhat longer.
No remedies available: use terpentine, alcohol, eggs or very much luke-warm water.
Very large 1st degree burn (a leg, the back, an arm, a head of possibly the whole body.
Use the same possibilities as with small and bigger 1st degree burn.
Give Arn. 30 when you think there will develop vesilcles/blisters.
Give Calen. 30 (internally!!!) after one hour, because the skin must be healed.
Give Acon. 30 when the patient is frightened.
Work with much diluted Urtica-tincture: half a bottle in a gallon luke-warm water. Save some
Utica-tincture in case your bucket is empty.
When you are completely sure that there are no vesicles, take the clothes away and work with
combudoron, followed by Calendula-emulsion.
No Combudoron available: make it yourself from Arnica tincture and Urtica tincture 1 part to 20
parts. Delute this mixure e.g. 1 bottle of 10 cc to 10 liters. Never put Arnica-tincture on an open
wound (destroyed vesicles!!!). When the vesicles are destroyed only use Urtica tincture
(followed by Calendula emulsion).
When fever occurs (quite probably in a large burn), think of Bell. 30. No medicine at all, work
with terpentine, alcohol, eggs or much luke-warm water.
2nd degree burns
First of all some general remarks.
A good treatment of this burns can be very nice and prevent the patient of huge problems. A 1st
degree burn does heal by itself. Such a burn is a little painful and that is annoying, but it will heal
by itself. It takes some time without any treatment. Taking care of a 1st degree burn is nice for
the patient but not really necessary.
The need of treatment of 2nd degree burn is higher, the problem is bigger, there will be more
pain, especially when the vesicles are damaged and there is the danger of infection and when the
2nd degree burn is big there is the danger of shock (dehydration).
When you can handle 2nd degree burns in a good way 24 hours later the situation will be much
better. Sometimes the way of treatment will be strange or odd (alcohol!!!) and many doctors will
criticize or even fool you and reject this measures of treatment. I understand that completely, but
in the past I took care of some quite extended burns (2nd degree) and when it occurs again, I will
do the same. You can prevent much harm and also the transport to a hospital, if any hospital is
available or affordable. Sometimes it felt very tricky to me and I do really feel the responsibility.
After the cure it felt very OK and the patient was satisfied and I saw a nice recovery without any
scar.
The problem of 2nd degree burns (especially the bigger ones and the very big ones) is the fluid in
the vesicles. The fluid originates from the circulation and when that will be very much fluid (like
2 liters or even more) the problems will be big: a shock occurs. In such a case you will need an
infuse/drain/needle in a vein (blood vessel) to put fluid in the circulation, but only a medical
doctor can do that. You can prevent the burnt person from big harm when you stop the leakage
of fluid by taking care that the fluid remains “on board”. Give Arnica 30 as soon as possible in
repeated doses and start with other measurements. Which one depends on the situation and the
location of the burn.
It is always very important that the vesicles are not damaged. Never take the burnt skin away, not
even in weeks!!!! The new skin itself will remove the old skin. The sooner you take away the
burnt skin the longer it will take time to accomplish a complete recovery. This is very, very
important. The skin of the vesicle is the protection against infections of the tissue underneath.
You will have the experience that a 2nd degree burn will heal quicker when the skin is still
closed, that when the vesicle is damaged and parts of the skin are broken.
A small 2nd degree burn
Now you have to take care of a burn of maximal size of a hand. This hurts and it is not nice, but
as long as the vesicles are not yet damaged the problem is not that big. When the vesicles are
damaged there will be the danger of infection.
At first the treatment of a 2nd degree burn when the vesicles are not yet damaged. I do this very
strange and odd. Mostly you will see such a burn on the hand or the foot because of fire or hot
water. As soon as possible I will pack the hand or foot very loose in gaze. Take care that the skin
of the fingers doesn’t touch the skin of another finger: no skin to skin. Three loose layers of the
gaze is enough. After that you wet (soak) the package completely with alcohol 70%. You may
take alcohol of a somewhat lower percentage, but go for at least 40 to 50%, and put the limb is a
plastic bag and tie the bag with plaster or whatever is available. The alcohol must not evaporate.
This hurts a lot, I know that, but after half a minute the pain is gone!!! Leave the plastic bag for
12 hours and then you unpack it all. You will notice then that the blisters are gone and the
burning pain is gone too. The skin of the blisters is again lying on the lower skin and now you
can go on with Calendula ointment with quite a thick layer. Put gaze on top of the ointment. Be
very careful, because the skin is fragile and can be damaged easily. The longer you keep the skin
complete, the bigger chance there will be a fast and complete cure.
Mostly the patient is frightened, so you have to pay attention to the patient (a child!!!) at the
same time. Comfort the child while you are at work, encourage the child to be brave, tell the
child that you know he is in pain now and that you will do everything to help the child. When
you have had the experience that this way of working is beneficial for quite small 2nd degree
burns, then you know this will work in bigger burns too and then you will have the courage to
work on bigger burns as well. When the patient is restless and anxious and not to be taken care
of, then force him to take Acon. at first and when calmness sets in, you can do your job. Try to
be quickly as possible, because you can win time for healing when you start immediately. Don’t
forget Arnica for the fluid in the blister. Take care that your remedies are at hand and in case of
emergency alternate the remedies. A little bit later on you can start with Calendula as described
before.
When there is no burning pain anymore use Calendula ointment.
When there is a blister beneath the clothes, don’t remove them and work with Urtica tincture or
even alcohol through the clothes. Removal of the clothes can be done after some days or even a
week. During that week you can use Calendula tincture (dissolved) through the clothes.
Remember that a tincture on the clothes will dry up after a while, so keep on wetting (soaking)
the burnt part with more of the Calendula solution. When the clothes are made of thick fabric
you cannot put ointment on the clothes, but it can be done when the fabric is quite thin (t-shirt or
something like that). Use a pair of scissors to take away the clothes which are not covering the
burnt spot and leave the clothes as long as it is helpful not to destroy the skin.
No alcohol available, work in the same way with terpentine or damaged raw eggs: you can see
very nice results of using eggs for a burn. The terpentine-story originates from Samuel
Hahneman (introduction to The Organon) and the egg-story I heard from an old lady from
Surinam (South America). She told me in the bush this really is the way of working when the
skin is burnt. After some time I understood exactly why this can be so beneficially. This is
(probably) the explanation. The heat in a burnt spot has a tendency to be kept in by proteins. Our
body is full of proteins. So in a burn the heat is “conserved” in the spot: the heat will remain in
the spot. So, when you supply a thick layer of proteins (the raw eggs) on the burnt surface the
heat can enter proteins which do not belong to the body and the heat is transported to the outside
of the body. Easy to comprehend and a very cheap way of taking care of burns, but you have to
do it immediately after being burnt. When you have a bowl full of eggs (let us say 15), you press
with two hands and damage all the eggs and the remedy is ready. Tell everybody to do this when
you are not at hand. I think eggs are everywhere, at least that should be the case. I do know that
many doctors will not like this, but when there is an emergency you have at least one idea.
When a small 2nd degree burn is open and the blisters are damaged, you cannot apply alcohol:
the underlayer of the skin will burn completely: don’t do that!! You can’t even use Combudoron,
because of the Arnica in it. In such a case use a mix of Calendula and Urtica tincture and keep
the part wet with this “burn-wound-water”. When the burning feeling has gone, go on with
Calendula ointment and use gaze and plaster. Read the MM of Calendula again how to do that:
leave the lower gaze on the wound and don’t remove this last layer. You can put more Calendula
ointment on this layer of gaze when that is necessary. After some time the whole package will
fall from the skin and you will see new and rosy skin. Also continue to put Calendula ointment
on this new skin as long as the skin is tender and soft.
A 2nd degree burn of moderate size (not small, not very large, let us say two to four palms of a
hand.
First of all start with Acon. 30 because of the fear and panic and then take care of the burn. Give
Arnica at once (because of danger of shock: the blister can be very big!!!) and then you work
according to the measures which are needed an mentioned before (alcohol, eggs, Urtica tincture,
Calendula tincture etc. etc.). When you don’t trust yourself in the situation call for help, any
help, from local doctors, the hospital, emergency numbers or whatever is available. When you
have the courage to start the treatment (especially when no help is at hand) then just start!!!! The
largest burn I ever treated was a burn of the complete belly and the two thighs (a complete pot of
hot tea fell over the body) and after two hours of hard working the patient was completely quiet
and everything looked quite good. After one day no pain anymore and no blisters at all.
A middle-sized burn and a broken skin of the blister is quite difficult to take care of. The skin is
broken and fluid is leaking out. You have to calm down the patient (Acon.30) and you have to
start to keep the fluid in the system (Arn.30) and you have to take care of the wound. You cannot
do this with alcohol: it will destroy the under layer of the skin completely. So the best way is to
start with a combination of Calendula and Urtica tincture. When you have to make a choice
between each of these remedies, start with Urtica to try to stop the burning process. After that
you can use Calendula tincture (always dissolved), followed by Calendula ointment and soft
gaze. (Give the patient also Calen. 30.) There is a kind of gaze not adhesive to the skin, so
perhaps you can use that. In case the gaze sticks to the skin, don’t tear it off, but apply daily new
Calendula ointment on top of the last gaze layer and after some time the whole package will
come off from the skin when the new skin is there. During the treatment of quite a large burn you
will need pretty much Calendula ointment. Don’t use too less, nor too much. Take care that the
whole package will not move and use plaster to fix the package.
From the moment on your start the treatment with Calendula ointment the patient has to move
the burnt part little by little, and if it is the case also bend the diseased limb. the new skin “learns
to stretch” and the new skin learns how to behave as appropriate skin. Always there is the danger
of stiffness in the skin. The skin must be movable. This takes some time, often much more time
than when the skin is cut with a knife. A burn is a very serious wound. Don’t underestimate this.
Don’t ask too much from the new skin in the beginning. When you do you will loose many days
and you can start again in the healing process. Explain your patient. Calendula ointment will
prevent the skin to dry. The tincture of Calendula will give dryness of the healing spot and you
will see cracks in the wound. Big process: give also Calendula 30K internally
Very large 2nd degree burns.
These burns ask for Acon. 30, Arn. 30 and almost always for cooling down with water. Adjust if
possible Urtica tincture to the water and keep the suffering part wet with Urtica-water. Keep on
giving Arn.30 until the wound is at ease. Then adjust a bandage with Calendula ointment. It will
take much time before the burning sensation leaves the body. Also use Urtica 30 internally and
think also of Cantharis 30 internally: a very good remedy for lessening the burning pain. Give
frequent doses until the pain is better. No effect? Try Hypericum 30K. Always call for doctor’s
help and start treatment with Acon.30 and Arn. 30. You cannot wrap the whole body with
alcohol-package, but you can do something with Urtica tincture in a bucket with water and then
work through the clothes. Keep on going wetting the body with this “burn- wound-water”. One
small bottle of Urtica tincture will not be enough and you will need a bucket and a sponge too.
Cooling down the burnt body with Urtica-tincture in the water, together with Arn. 30 and Acon.
30 can save the patient’s life. After one hour, start with Calendula 30K internally for the healing
impulse from within the body. It will not be necessary to give Calendula 30 very frequently, but
do it in the beginning 4 to 6 times a day. In the beginning somewhat more frequent and later on
once or twice a day until the recovery is complete.
3rd degree burns
3rd degree burn of quite a small size
Now it will be really difficult and you passed the situation in which you can do much work
without a hospital. I do realize that very well. It is not necessary to hurry in case of a small 3rd
degree burn. It will not be painful very much and mostly it will not be life threatening unless the
spot is on the head near the eye or quite close to another vital organ. When you have to deal with
very large 2nd degree burns (blisters and leaking liquid!!!) the danger is bigger. The best idea
when you meet a 3rd degree burn is to send in the patient to a hospital and let the regular doctor
do the job. Take care of the patient with general measurements and wait for instructions of
transport. Try to calm down the patient. Keep other people away from the spot or give clear
instructions what to do. Cover the burn with a sheet or with a clean towel. Give Arnica 30 and
Acon. 30 in repeated doses. Stay in touch with the emergency and follow the instructions.
When you feel any reason to do more, then, besides working with Acon.30 and Arn. 30 you can
go on with Combudoron. You will save some tissue in the neighbourhood of the burn. The tissue
in a 3rd degree burn is deep and heavily damaged and it is not that useful to save that tissue. The
skin and the layer under the skin is burnt and mostly there will be a crust of burnt material. There
are no germs inside the wound and the healing process must start from the inside.
When a 3rd degree burn is quite small, you just start with Calendula ointment. No use to clean
the wound. Take care of more Calendula ointment once or twice a day and don’t remove the
lower gaze. Put a new gaze with a new layer of Calendula ointment on top of it and close the
spot again. Every time you take care of the wound, take a careful look at the spot which gaze to
can take away very carefully. sometimes you have to leave two layers of gaze. No problem. Let
the wound be healed by itself. After some time the whole package will fall from the spot with the
burnt flesh, the old gaze etc. etc. Then you will know already how to go on from that moment.
When the wound starts hurting again it means that the nerves are growing again. Perhaps you can
use also an ointment which has Hypericum as a component. When the pain is serious, just give
Hypericum 30K (frequently). Take care that the diseased limb is moved slowly by and by,
because otherwise contractions in the skin will occur.
Bigger and very big 3rd degree burns
Sorry to say, but treatment of these burns has to be done in specialized hospitals and by
specialized doctors. Just in case of urgency and when there is no single chance that specialized
help is available, you can start treatment in the same way as mentioned above in smaller 3rd
degree burns and bigger 2nd degree burns. Give Arn.30 (because of the circulation) and Acon.
30 (think also of Urt. 30 and Canth. 30) and try to get out the heat and the burn with Urt.-
tincture. After that you have to start with Calendula ointment and take care of the patient. Do
realize that you will loose these patients. Whenever you will meet such a big problem (it is not
likely) you will need much material (Calendula, Urtica-tincture, gaze) and the patient and the
family will need your comfort. After such a case you yourself will need comfort too, because this
will be a burden to you.
Cicatrices and Keloid
In 3rd degree burns you will see after some time (when the recovery sets in) big cicatrices with
keloid. This can give much trouble to the elasticity of the new tissues and the thickened skin.
You can help a little bit by using Calendula ointment for a long time in alternation with “keloid-
gel” (Wala). Both remedies you have to rub daily on the hardened skin. Look for a qualified
homeopath and he can use remedies like Fl.ac., Sil., Graph. and Nitr. ac. Try to prevent the
formation of so called contractures in the skin. When you see contractures in the muscles and
tendons, think of Causticum.
Burns in the throat and the lungs
So far I told you about a burn caused by hot water, fat, oil, hot objects or fire.
As I said before the throat and the lungs can also be burnt by breathing of steam or hot air. It is
very difficult to start the treatment, because you cannot reach with your materials the damaged
tissues.
Leave the treatment to a specialist, but you can start with Combudoron-spray. At the same time
give Arn. 30 and Acon. 30. Severe case: use Urt. 30 and Canth. 30. I would prefer also a kind of
spray in which also Calendula is there. As far as I am concerned, such a spray is not available.
But you can make such a vaporizer yourself by preparing a Calendula tincture in solution 1 part
to 20 in a vaporizer for e.g. perfumes (perhaps you look for such a vaporizer in advance) and
then you use this vaporizer while the patient is inhaling air. Then you start the impuse to healing.
But the best thing to do is start with Combudoron. Give also Calendula 30K in frequent doses
internally. Prepare a little bit in solution and give Calendula 30K in some drops under the tongue.
Bigger burns in the lungs of the 2nd degree can be treated only in a hospital. While transporting
the patient to the hospital give Arn. 30 and Acon. 30 in very frequent doses (just a few drops
under the tongue). You can also just moisten the lips with the potencies. Alternate this with
Calendula 30, in drop-doses to start the healing process.
I do realize I wrote many words, but I liked to give background information, so that you will
understand why a certain measure is explained. Read also the text of all the mentioned remedies
because of all the indications and background information of the single remedies. Consider to
write down all above information in brief terms, so that everything is at hand when needed. It
will be favorable to make pictures of the burn treated by you and later on you can compare the
result to what you have seen when you started the treatment.
Compare also the information of the regular (medical) doctor to what I told you about the
treatment with homeopathy. Perhaps a regular doctor will not be pleased by my words, but when
you trust yourself and you start treatment of easy cases you will learn by doing and learning by
doing is the best way. So you will enjoy the results I think.
Never work on patients when you don’t know what to do. In such a case then search for help.
I wish you good luck and much courage and also much satisfaction after a treatment that lead the
patient and you to much satisfaction.
