Social media platforms should not collect user data.

Everyone must of course use social media as their daily activity, and also everyone

must have their own goals in using social media, some use it just to entertain themselves,

have fun, and some people use social media with the aim of certain jobs, such as

entrepreneurs where today's entrepreneurs are required to use social media to promote the

products they sell so that it attracts consumers to buy the products they sell. When it comes to

social media, it is never separated from the video content, where social media also offers

video content, from content that entertains and makes the user laugh out loud, to content that

teaches us all to be kind to others. if we talk about social media users, it is never separated

from things where if you want to have your social media, new social media users must first

register the desired social media application such as having to register full name, nickname,

date of birth, number telephone, e-mail, passwords, and others, this happens in almost all

social media and almost all new social media users who register also want to give their full

name, nickname, telephone number, date of birth, e-mail. , and their passwords. The reasons

they want to do that include:

They think that this is one way for new social media users to enjoy social media with

their accounts, not from other people. indeed there is nothing wrong with that because indeed

this must be done on all social media that we want to enjoy so that all of us and new social

media users can immediately enjoy social media with our accounts, not other people's

accounts, the proof is for example so we just downloaded the Instagram application, and once

we want to have our own Instagram with our account, then we have to register first, such as:

providing our full name, email, and phone number, after that we can have our own Instagram

with our account. but I strongly disagree if social media platforms have to collect data like

that from social media users, because if this continues to be done, then what will happen is
The data collected by social media networks can be used by hackers or e-commerce

companies for illegal activities. (Fung, 2020) This usually happens when user data collected

by social media networks is often misused by hackers, and highly educated people and their

companies are very successful but very bad character to get the benefits they want i.e. money,

gold, etc. . people like this in their life must always think about money, have a greedy nature,

and are always selfish, to the point that they have the heart to justify any means to get

whatever they want no matter what way they do it will be very detrimental to other people

whom they must get whatever they want including by exploiting social media user data just

for their benefit.

There is the theft of social media user data by hackers to steal money from the user or

commit other criminal acts. (Fung, 2020) (Wilson, 2019) this is usually done by hackers with

the sole purpose of making it easier for hackers to steal anything owned by social media users

including stealing money, jewelry, or goods from users that hackers want, yes, it's true, that

usually want to be stolen by these hackers in their action is money from social media users,

and usually, the hackers who do this are people who are geniuses and very talented in

computer programming but have very bad character and only care about money in their lives

or people who have learned and mastered the science of hacking and how to become a

hacker. but instead, the knowledge and methods gained by these people are misused for their

purposes, namely to get whatever they want instantly, namely by stealing data from social

media users to get whatever they want including money from social media users, this is

already included in the crime because the victims of hacking, in this case, are the social

media users themselves.

We all understand that if we want to have social media with our accounts, all of us as

new social media users must first register to the desired social media application such as

having to register full name, nickname, date of birth, phone number, e-mail, passwords, and
others, and I strongly disagree if social media companies continue to collect personal data of

their users because if this continues it is the most feared thing such as data theft by hackers or

e-commerce to steal money from social media users, crime, and illegal activities will occur.
