False sense information security by Facebook:

Facebook is one of the highest used platform in the world with 2.85 billion users. That
being said the company holds a huge amount of data about it users and with its state
of the art AI it uses to predict users preferences and are targeted with specific
advertisements according to their preferences making it one of the best platform for
businesses. However such data can also be used for malicious or for personal gains
since Facebook security measures are not the best and users are manipulated into
providing there personal information on that platform. As such an event took place,
reported by a whistleblower that a company Cambridge analytica used an app
“thisisyourdigitallife” to harvest data of users on Facebook users and their friends
allowing tens of millions of users data being pooled by the company whose head was
part of Donald trump’s election team used the data to target the users with
personalized political advertisements. Even after the data breach Facebook took little
to no steps in trying to secure the data but after 2 years of the security breach
Facebook suspended Cambridge analytica from its platform.
Which still rose the question that is Facebook a platform where advertisement for
business communication a viable option since it has violated the rules of personal data
protection act? Since it is a possibility that not only can Facebook use the data
illegally but could also harm a business reputation if found when taken part in such
act.

Telegram

With the rising popularity in social media, traditional marketing strategy such as
television and radio commercials nowadays do not give as much impact to customers
as it used to. In 2020, there are more than 1 billion users using Instagram monthly.
Today, many businesses are using social media such as Instagram to promote their
products to more customers.

Increases brand equality

Marketing on Instagram can influence the buying interests of consumers by giving

them a place to interact more with a brand, allowing them to think highly of the brand.
This results in positive feedback from customers which builds trust in brands, making
many more consumers to buy more willingly. Consumers can communicate their
brand-related knowledge freely through an interactive social media system, allowing
for a larger and quicker distribution of products and service information. Furthermore,
the growing popularity of Instagram entices consumers to move to the platform to
learn more about certain products, thereby raising consumer purchase intentions.

Fewer competition

In contrast to Facebook, which has 10 million marketers, Instagram has over 2 million
advertisers monthly. Therefore, businesses not only have less competition on
Instagram, but also more opportunity for marketing success.

Visual marketing

Instagram is entirely focused on pictures and videos as it is an effective tactic for

product promotion. Consumers can process brand messaging considerably faster when
utilizing images as a medium for brand communication than when using text-based
methods due to the visual comprehension. Besides, Instagram can assist companies in
reducing costs associated with brand design. Utilizing Instagram's features, every
photograph taken for a product can be modified and filtered.

Furthermore, Instagram differs from other social networking platforms. Instagram

users frequently choose their posts a little more carefully. Instagram only features
visual content, thus it gives businesses a brand-new platform to market their goods.
Marketers may use Instagram to showcase what customers are doing with their
products in addition to posting their own images and videos. Instagram users love it
when their posts are liked or commented on.

Additionally, social media gives marketers a simpler way to comprehend their clients.
When it comes to Instagram, leaving and receiving comments on photo postings can
increase the amount of client input on the brand. Being aware of the comments would
help to improve the relationship with consumers since followers are frequently
curious to watch how the organization and users communicate.

Fake accounts

However, as with any other social networking platform, fake accounts are a
possibility. Therefore, companies should be aware of the existence of online con
artists, as should consumers. Creating a constant connection or link between your
official website and your official social media accounts is the easiest method to
minimize this drawback.

Copyright issues

Moreover, the restrictions and legal aspects of the Copyright law should always be
known to marketing experts and online users. While it is not appropriate to upload
anything and everything, the business should permit copyright infringement so that
users can copy, present, or even forward these images on their personal accounts.

Incomplete features

Several features, including the in-app payment feature, are still unavailable in nations
other than the United States. Because Facebook Pay is the only way to make
transactions, this feature is not currently available. As a result, prospective customers
must go through a laborious process that includes using the Instagram programmed,
the Instagram Shopping function, visiting the website, making an account, checking
out, and finally making a payment.
Twitter

Twitter is a well-known media platform where ideas and opinions are shared between
communities. People are easily influenced by what they absorb from twitter, due to
the comfortability of expressing one’s self (D Murthy, 2018). Businesses and
franchises have taken this aspect into consideration by adopting Twitter as an
advertising platform. Due to its popularity, 78% of Fortune’s 500 companies had
active accounts on Twitter. Therefore it can be agreed that product awareness and
consumer loyalty could be strengthened through Twitter (Shiyang G, Juanjuan Z, Ping
Z, Xuping J, 2017).

One important advantage of Twitter for marketing and business communication is

Twitter has an ability to reach a worldwide audience. This is because Twitter has a
huge user base which will include potential customers (Hovhan, 2021). Many market
leaders today use Twitter for marketing, market research and customer care that
provides valuable data on many aspects of business. By receiving feedback,
businesses can use it to improve their services as well as customer experience
(Hovhan,2021). As Twitter is one of the fastest moving social media platforms, it will
be easy and quick to receive customer feedback. As Twitter has an ability to reach a
worldwide audience, it will have an increased reach to many (“Pros and Cons of
Twitter Marketing” ,2021) potential customers. A conversation can be easily started
in Twitter that can bring in potential customers for a business as it allows a direct two-
way communication between users, as it is a public interaction, if the conversation is
well conducted it will show the business in a positive light. When marketing a
product, it is essential to offer customers the respective products and services at the
right time, namely when they need it, as people tend to search it on Twitter
(NiBusiness,). Many customers find Twitter to be a good medium for getting
assistance and customer service (Hovhan,2021). In conclusion, there is a lot of
evidence to support the advantage of Twitter being able to reach a worldwide
audience for marketing purposes in the context of Business Communication.

Advertisements on any social platform tend to have many risks involved, one major
risk is considered as failure to gain views. In 2012 about 41% of companies where
utilizing Twitter to increase their Consumer base. At that time the social media budget
had increased to 64% (Nastaran N.R-Carpenter , Kelly Tafoya, 2021) leaving the
platform profitable, but at the same time making it more costly for these businesses
which is seen as a discouraged loss. Most businesses aim to attract sales revenue in
order to push up their profits but sometimes it is challenging to identify the interests
of its consumers, since a person could be interested in more than one thing. Certain
people on Twitter may find advertisement as useful at first but with continuous
exposure to the same exact post or tweet would only cause irritation. Therefore a
sense of boredom would manifest which could lead to certain adverts being skipped
on a daily (Guanxiong Huang, 2019). Certain companies would find that more and
more of their adverts are either skipped or ignored, leading to less of their specific
target market being interested. Less people being interested in these adverts would
have a negative impact on the sales revenue (Michelle A.Amazeen, Chris J. Vargo,
August 2019)
Therefore certain businesses would have to adopt new methods such as changing the
layout, colour as well as the words used. These changes could have a higher chance in
attracting new audience and making a better name for brands.
