Safety Training for Operation & Maintenance

Safety training for maintenance labour is given and following points were discussed: 1
1. Every Person should wear Helmet and secure its strip at chin. 2
2. Every Person should wear Safety shoe and secure it’s lace tightly. 3
3. No person should go very close to the running equipment. 4
4. Every Person should wear fluorescent jacket all the time. 5
5. No person should work at any equipment without the proper
6
shutdown.
6. Maintenance staff after getting proper shutdown should also 7
operate Pull Chord Switch or Emergency switch for additional 8
safety. 9
7. Maintenance Person should always inform Conveyor attendant 10
before starting maintenance work.

8. Cutting torch should not be used without Flash back arrester and
flash lighter. Safety googles should be wear by gas cutter. 12
9. Welding gloves and welding helmet should be worn before 13
welding. 14
10. After doing cutting by cutting torch or welding in any location of 15
CHP water should be squirted in that location.

11. One should wear safety belt before going into height.
12. In case of fire if Fire hose is used then no less than 4 persons 17
should handle the hose. 18
13. After hearing the siren of conveyor start alarm person working in 19
the premises should make a suitable distance from all the 20
conveyor whether it’s starting or not.

14. Any person feeling dizzy, weak or any type of physical discomfort
should never go near running equipment and immediately report 22
to the safety office. 23
15. Conveyor Should be checked by conveyor attendant thoroughly 24
from Head to tail each time conveyor starts.

16. If any person is found working near the premises of starting
26
conveyor or equipment, they should be informed about starting
of conveyor. 27
17. Conveyor attendant should observe the equipment by 28
maintaining safe distance weather running or stopped and should 29
never get over the conveyor belt without proper shutdown. 30
18. Any abnormalities observed by conveyor attendant should be
31
immediately reported to control room.
19. For Extreme emergency purpose Pull Chord or emergency switch 32
should be operated without asking anybody. 33
20. Whatever may be the condition no person should cross over or 34
below the train at silo railway crossing. 35
21. Before cleaning the Sampling crusher ensure proper shutdown
36
and also drop the Power MCB near crusher.
22. All electrical appliance like welding machine, switch board, 37
grinding, blower etc. should be connected in 63 A socket provided 38
through out the CHP only if its plug is provided in the equipment. 39
No loose wire should be connected. Always call electrician in case 40
of any electrical matter.

23. Every person should wear half sleeve shirts and no loose cloths is
allowed. 42
24. Rs. 150 fine will be levied for each safety violation. Thus, in case of 43
any problem/doubt consult your supervisor/Engineer first. 44
