Description:
The panels portrays of the meetings between the Shiba and the wolf. Modern dogs like
Shibas are nor really capable of living in the wold since their adaptations have been fine-tuned to
be well fitted in the cities /human environments. If I’m not mistaken, many dogs today even have
a selective diet in which certain foods can cause problems for them. The Shiba explains how his
domesticated life essentially made him reliant on todays things like how I am reliant on my
devices and modern things and how stuff like camping or living off the grid is just unimaginable
to me. I think this doesn’t just describe me but likely a large percentage of the world today. It
draws parallels on how everyone relies on technology and modern inventions to get through life
and how we would be useless if it were to disappear.
Additional information:
Modern (gray) wolves may not have been the direct ancestors of modern dogs (Theory as
of now) but are descendants of the same wolf species that dogs may have descended from (hence
the last dialogue). This is still just a theory however. See image below.
