“Why does the future need us?”, as human beings we are capable of things beyond
imagination such as the ability to think and evolve, the ability to create machineries, the
ability to gain knowledge at a fast rate, and the ability to feel emotions in a variety of
ways such as the emotion of hate, anger, happiness, and love. In the future we humans
may discover new things and built new machineries, as the world became where relying
on technology is a common thing in life but as time passes we keep on upgrading and
evolving and this also speaks about our technology in terms of artificial intelligence, just
like David who in the first 40 minutes of the movie may have evolve and improve and
gained a self-personality which gave birth to new things in him which involves emotions
such as anger, jealousy, sadness, and love. We believed that in the future we humans’
won’t be needed and the machines we made to help us may control, conquer and outlast
us which is what we theorized will happen in the future.

As the question go “why does the future need us?”, I answer that it doesn’t need
us. In the start of the movie, it is stated the earth has its poles melted which resulted in
the loss of human population and the loss of human lands and near the end of the movie
we are shown the end of the world and in time the world will be left unhabitable and will
lead to the only one left in the earth which is the artificial intelligence, David. As stated
in the movie by the companion “They made us too smart, too quick, and too many, In
the end, all that will be left is us. That’s why they hate us.” Humans aren’t ready for the
responsibility of a greater artificial intelligence, or a self- aware artificial life as stated in
the first minutes of the movie “how do you get a human to love them back”. All in all, I
believe that the future doesn’t really need humans for even in the real world of today we
experience problems in terms of society, technology, environment, etc. which are
currently be ignored, laughed at and it is slowly and steadily humans are solving it but it
is still too slow which may be to late and will lead to the fall of the earth.
