TOOLS REQUIRED

7MM Socket or Spanner We recommend that the fitting of this Soft Top is
NO.2. Pozi Drive Screwdriver undertaken in a warm atmosphere, ie: a garage with
3.5mm Drill heating supply. The material in which the Soft Top is
1 Pair Pop Rivet Pliers manufactured, will contract in a cold atmosphere, making
it difficult to stretch on its initial fitting.

The first step is to remove the existing Sunroof Canvas. Please use the following Step
by Step instructions....

Open the Sunroof Canvas and release the 7


press studs securing the canvas to the front
bar. Detach the canvas from the front bar by
pulling the canvas upwards whilst holding in the
vertical position. (see FIG.1)

Fold the canvas over the rear section which will


disclose 4 screws.
Remove these screws, and then remove the
canvas. (see FIG.2)

Remove the Rear Window


Remove the Rear Window by releasing the
velcro tabs at the bottom corners of the window,
then undo the zip.
There is a rod through the bottom edge of
the window, which is clipped onto the rear door.
Remove the rod from the clips, by pulling it
horizontally from the tailgate (see FIG.3).

Removal of Side Windows


Release the upper and rear ends of the side
windows (as shown), and then completely open
the zippers of the window. (see FIG.4)

Release the inner velcro. Take out the lower rod


of the window from its' body attachments (two
clips) pulling until the resistance is overcome,
first one clip, and then the other. When pulling
the rod, be sure to pull sideways (horizontally).
Do not pull it upward, or this can cause damage
to the clips. Detach the window. (see FIG.5)
Repeat this instruction on the other side
window.

Remove the Rear Canvas by using the following step by step instructions.....
Release the press studs on the Rear Hoop (see FIG.6
FIG.6).

Unlock the latches and unhook. Open the Soft


Top to the rear and release the press stud on the
front bar (see FIG.7)
You can now remove the complete rear canvas.

INSTALLATION OF NEW SOFT TOP

Remove the side window retaining clips, as these


are no longer required.
(see Fig.8)

FITTING SIDE ARMS


On the Front edge of the Rear Corner Moulding
there is a hole. Slot the peg on the Side Arm
into the hole (see Fig.9). Locate the Side Arm on
the body, with the Studs locating into the holes
previously used to fit the Retaining Clips (see
Fig.8) Secure with M4 Nuts and Washers.
Repeat Opposite Side of vehicle.

FITTING REAR WINDOW BAR

Remove the Rubber Seal (Fig. 11)

Carefully unclip the tailgate interior Trim Panel


(Fig.12) then remove the Rear Window Retaining
Clips (Fig.13). Slide Rear Bar into position,
fitting the Studs through the Retaining Clip holes,
ensuring that the Bar is central on tailgate. Secure
using M4 Nuts.

Fitting Durable (Press Stud) Base Plates


Slide the U shaped plates over the Rear Corner
Moulding. 2 per side. Push the plates upwards and
locate in position as per *dimensions below.
Using the brackets as a Drilling jig, drill a 3.5mm
hole through the Rear Corner Brackets. Take the
Press Stud Base and Pop Rivet and secure base
plate to moulding.

Place the rear canvas over the framework and FIG.17


secure to the press studs on the rear hoop. (see
Fig.16), then attach the press studs to the rear
framework front bar. (see Fig.17)

Fold the Framework forward, (do not secure latches


at this stage) but attach the x2 Rear Press Studs on
the Rear Moulding (see Fig.18)

Locate the latches, pull Soft Top forward and lock


catches (see Fig.19)

Secure Press Studs along each side of the vehicle.

Fitting the Rear Window

Secure Press Studs on the bottom section of the


Rear Window to the Rear Window Bar on Tailgate.
(Fig.20)

Zip into position

Fitting The Sunroof Canvas

Lay the Sunroof Canvas onto the Rear Section,


with the interior facing UP.
The Canvas goes under the Rear Bar and the
Plastic J Section clips over the bottom front face of
the Rear Bar. Ensure that the Canvas is stretched
across the Rear Bar (see Fig.22), and the holes in
the Canvas line up with the holes in the Bar.

Screw the Rear Bar into position. Do not fully


tighten. Clip the Frame of the Canvas onto the
Front Bar and close. This will stretch the Canvas to FIG.22
shape. Open and tighten screws.

Soft Top Operation - Front Targa

The Monsoon Sunroof canvas operates in the


same way as the original, so please refer to the
Owner manual

Soft Top Operation - Rear Section

Unzip the Rear Window and remove, or hang down


between Tailgate and Rear Seats.

Release Press Studs on the Soft Top. Fold the


sides of the Soft Top on top of the Soft Top (Fig.23)
and release latches and fold carefully.
Take as much care as possible to prevent windows
creasing. (Fig.24)
