INTRODUCTION
Course aim

• Introduction to design thinking & innovation.


• Contrast a traditional linear view of problem solving
through working with wicked problems.
• Development of design related skills.

• You are in a professional context when joining a course

General information
• Time: Monday sessions start 08:00, Wednesday sessions at 10:00. SHARP!
• Zoom links: Provided in Canvas
• No mandatory course literature…
… but you need literature for your home exam, and for deeper learning.
• Hand-ins: detailed information in Syllabus and given in class.
Always hand in via Canvas, using syntax provided in Syllabus.
• Attendance:
• Mandatory classes in Project 1 to learn methodology
• Fewer mandatory classes later, but you are accountable to your team, and
the learning is experience-based.
• If you can’t make it to a mandatory session, please let us know as soon as
possible before the session - email Constantin
(constantin.bremer@chalmers.se) - we will provide you with an exercise you
can do at home.
Information about grading
Grading is based on:
• 30p Team-level: Expert panel evaluation of team presentations Project 2
• 20p Team-level: Team Experience Journey Map (TEJM) Project 2
• 40p Individual: Written home exam: (40p). 20p minimum to pass the course.
• 10p Individual: Contribution to team - Project 2*
Total: 100 p
*Each team gets 10p x number of participants (a six person team gets 60p). The
team jointly decides how to distribute these, based on each individual’s
contribution to the team.

Points will be withdrawn:


- Absence from mandatory sessions without prior notice: -4p
- Late submissions of hand-ins and extra-tasks: -2p
