Organization and Annual Election of YES-O Officers


Before the election, Arlene V. Talastas, Youth for Environment in Schools Organization Adviser discussed the
program and objectives of YES-O. This engaged the students to perform their tasks to protect, preserve and
rehabilitate our environment.
Nomination of new officers proceeded as well as counting of votes.
Students from Grade 7 to Grade 10 exercised their rights to choose their new leaders.
The newly elected Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers of Felizardo C. Lipana
National High School for the School Year 2019-2020

What went well?


1. The students were actively participating.
2. The election of officers flowed smoothly.
3. The students showed their enthusiasm in joining the organization.

What went wrong?


1. There was a need of larger area to accommodate all the students.
2. The time was limited since it was done after the school hour.

Suggestions and Recommendations


1. The election should be done in a more spacious area.
2. Enough time should be given in doing the election.

First General Meeting


and Putting Up Of Yes-O Bulletin Board
The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) conducted their first general meeting which
involved the students in performing their tasks in taking care of the environment.
The agenda that were discussed are the Calendar of Annual Proposed Activities which include the different
programs and activities that will be conducted throughout the school year.
YES-O Officers were able to put up a bulletin board which contained information regarding the organization. It
also includes the organization's profile and their monthly projects accomplishments.

What went well?


1. The officers were very much engage in carrying out the activity.
2. The officers willingly accept their assigned tasks.
3. All tasks were equally distributed among them.

What went wrong?


1. There was no available room for the meeting.

1. A specific room should be given to the organization where all the meeting and gatherings will take place.

Environmental Education Seminar

Engr. Sudan C. Carreon, Head of Guiguinto Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office CMENRO)
gave her opening remarks. She also discussed the overview of the environmental education seminar.
Speakers in Action. The proficient and high caliber speakers shared their knowledge on Proper Waste
Management and other Environmental Concerns.
The participants heartily accepted the challenge to bring better changes for the welfare of our Mother Earth.

What went well?


1. The seminar was informative and brought awareness to the teachers.

Plastic Free Environment


" SA LIPANA BAWAL ANG PLASTIK"

In line with the project of Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) “Sa Lipana Bawal ang
Plastik!”, the organization requested a school order that will prohibit the use of single use disposable plastic cups.

Students used recyclable paper cups instead of disposable plastic cups.

What went well?


1. The project was a success in eradicating the use of disposable plastic cups.

What went wrong?


1. The canteen's stock of plastic cups were needed to used first before turning into paper cups.

1. The project should be maintained and implemented on the following years to come.

Proper Waste Segregation Campaign

The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers conducted a campaign on
proper waste segregation to encourage the students to work together on a mission of protecting the
environment.
The YES-O Officers led a room to room campaign to create awareness among students on how to properly
segregate their wastes.
The YES-O aimed to develop proper environmental values and attitudes.
United in one goal, Save the Mother Earth! Students are expected to carry out the purpose of the project which
is to properly segregate their wastes in their own classrooms.

What went well?


1. The campaign was a success and had brought enlightenment to the students.
2. The YES-O officers perform their tasks well.

What went wrong?


1. There was a limited time spent in each classroom due to ongoing classes.

Monthly Clean-Up Drive


JULY. The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers spearheaded a Clean-Up Drive that
aimed to gain students’ awareness on how to take good care of the environment and make history that would
reflect concern to the environment.
The YES-O officers and members initiated in helping the school and the environment and contributed to the
prevention of threats to Mother Earth.
AUGUST. The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers led another Clean-Up Drive that
aimed to heighten the willingness of the students to maintain the cleanliness of the school.
The YES-O truly wants a clean and green environment and to make the school a healthy place for the Lipanians to
stay in.
SEPTEMBER. The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) are committed to encourage the
students to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the school.
OCTOBER. In view of the pressing global concerns and issues on the environment, the Youth for Environment in
Schools Organization (YES-O) administered another of clean- up activity inside the school.
NOVEMBER. The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) put through their mission in making
the school a healthy and waste free environment.
DECEMBER. The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) obliged the students to learn and keep
their surroundings waste-free.
JANUARY. The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) together with the FCLNHS Boy Scouts lead
the role that seek to preserve and protect the environment.
FEBRUARY. The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers coordinated with all the students
for the clean and green program of the school. At the end of the day, the condition of the school improved devoid of
garbage.
Programs implemented by the YES-O were all meant for the betterment of the school and the environment.

What went well?


1. The officers, members and students participated actively.
2. The objective of the activity was carried out successfully.

What went wrong?


1. There was a limited time since it was done after the school hour.
